I have had it. I just watched the latest episode of "The Orville".
But this latest episode, "Primal Urges" pissed me off to NO end.
Let's forget the overall subject of "gay" porn addiction by a completely non-human species, and the total delve into how that affected the ship and crew...and the clear homosexual overtones.
I cannot let pass the behavior of the sudo-Klingon character of Bortis who stood by and watched a woman say goodbye to her family...husband and son...of which there was a good 30-60 second scene...and our Uber Macho "hero" did NOTHING to save her.
His behavior...given his mission to save as many people as possible from a planet soon to be destroyed by an exploding star...was simply unconscionable. He should have grabbed her and pushed her onto the shuttle with her family and closed the door. A sacrifice? Possibly. But...if necessary...YES.
Yet he chose to save his own sorry ass. Not good.
Maybe I'm wrong. But I would not have hesitated to push her onto the shuttle and then close the doors. That was the mission. Save as many people as possible.
Yes...I know this is fiction and supposed comedy but really? Why would such a feel good, heroic moment be overlooked? Except...by those who JUST DON'T GET IT.
The writers of this show have exposed themselves to be far less than worthy of my viewership. I'm done with this type of BS.
I cannot believe...and I hope...that I am not the only one who noticed this and whose hackles rose while watching this.
Am I too old school? Am I a dinosaur? Are there no others who would have done...oh...I dunno...the RIGHT thing?
I'm sorry. But sometimes...I get pissed.
They always wait 3 or 4 episodes for the gay sex.If you see graffic sex know the gays will throw in gay sex.Their excuse-just to add to the plot.We turn off lang. and sex.The end.
It has been changed to “CHAT”; finally.
Is that the show I saw advertised with a man sporting an elephant trunk?
Man.........no comment.
Ive never even heard of this show.
I saw about 20 minutes of this inane show for the first time a week ago when I couldn’t get a football game on antenna. That’s all I could take.
Being a fan of the first Star Trek I thought this Sci Fi show might be mildy engaging. It wasn’t. It basically reminded me of soap opera on a Starship.
I guess I am one of the few that has seen television since they switched over from black and white.
Yes i was disappointed in that episode and turned it off. Sunday night episode was great IMO
The shuttle had a TON of room.
The gay thing is what Seth lives for. That and casting his sister as the voice of every Seth - voiced character.
Never watched it...the commercials alone drove me away. Now, from what you’re saying, I made the right decision.
“The Orville”?
This must be TV.
TV is both amoral and degenerate.
How can you be surprised, TV promotes the lowest common denominater.
TV/social media is mind control.
IMHO
However I think you're overlooking what a bad light this shines on homos - Bortus's gay culture performs sex change operations on infants, they legally kill each other rather than amicably divorcing, and are perverted sex addicts to boot allowing their sexual proclivities to adversely affect their lives and job performance.
Makes me think McFarland may be a closet conservative that knows how to cleverly poke liberals in the eye by giving them exactly what they want...
Terry Pratchett series of DiskWorld. Nightwatch, Guards, Thud. Or Witches Abroad, Wee Free Men are good starting points.
“The Orville”?????? WTF?
I cant watch his show at all because his toupee has already jumped the shark before any plots come about.
Thank you! I’d seen the second season had come out but now it stays in the “too stupid to watch” pile.
Zathras says that B5 is available free on Amazon Prime right now.
B5 is available free now on Amazon Prime.
Zathras did the entire series recently.
Zathras however was too busy fixing the Great Machine to watch.
Agreed. Dune is a killer saga. And the movie with William Hurt (Duke Leto Atredies) and Alec Newman (Paul Atredies) is far and away the best film adaptation of Herbert’s works. Dino DeLaurentii’s version was terrible.
>>>I dont know Orville or this McDonald guy<<<
One sells Popcorn and the other sells Hamburgers.
she was the leader of her people, they decided by lottery and she told her the father of her child it wouldn’t be right for her to include herself. It was a little eye rolling specially when there was clearly still space in the shuttle.
LOL I didn’t get past the first two minutes of the new season when I started to watch what I had stored on my DVR. Shut it off, deleted and cancelled the series record.
