Well here are a few money sources.
Americas top 15 largest banks In the years since the financial crisis, the nations biggest banks have grown substantially. All in all, the top 15 largest banks now hold a combined total of $13.2 trillion in assets.
For a sense of the vast scale of that wealth, $13.2 trillion is enough to buy every one of the 7.6 billion human beings on Earth a 13-inch MacBook Pro, with a little left over for accessories.
Of course, every year there are changes in this exclusive club. Larger banks trade places with one another, and smaller banks drop out, replaced by faster-growing rivals.
This year, you need at least $201.3 billion in assets to join the club, a sum so large that, if converted into $100 bills laid end to end, would reach the moon (with several thousand miles left over to check out the view).
Here are the 15 largest banks in the U.S. by assets, according to the latest numbers from S&P Global Market Intelligence, a financial industry research firm.
Rank Bank name Total assets 1 JPMorgan Chase & Co. $2.53 trillion 2 Bank of America Corp. $2.28 trillion 3 Wells Fargo & Co. $1.95 trillion 4 Citigroup Inc. $1.84 trillion 5 Goldman Sachs Group Inc. $917 billion 6 Morgan Stanley $851.86 billion 7 U.S. Bancorp $462.04 billion 8 TD Group US Holdings LLC $380.91 billion 9 PNC Financial Services Group Inc$380.77 billion 10 Bank of New York Mellon Corp. $371.76 billion 11 Capital One Financial Corp. $365.69 billion 12 State Street Corp. $238.42 billion 13 BB&T Corp. $221.64 billion 14 SunTrust Banks Inc. $205.96 billion 15 HSBC USA Inc. $201.30 billion
Yes, and they should be ignored. They’re not the final authority or arbiter on the Constitution. It’s amazing how much damage has already been done to the separation of powers by kowtowing to these tyrannical pipsqueaks.
Didn’t we bail them out in 2008?
Yes, and they all repaid the loans. JP Morgan didn’t even want the bailout but was forced to take it. Regardless, they paid it back in short order.
You can't just say "they should be ignored". That does not address the issue we are discussing.
“You can’t just say “they should be ignored””
Yes, I did. It’s that easy. When you have a branch of government(judicial branch) violating the separation of powers and the Constitution, you ignore them. I would round them up in the dead of the night and ship these black robed tyrants to gitmo, but I’m a softy that way.
Otherwise we have what we have now a judicial tyranny.
Charge $10 per head coming into USA. That’s $10 million a day. People pay toll’s all the time.
$10 a ticket. Multiple Million $$$ winners each week.
What could go wrong? ;)
Sell off the entire oil reserve, use that to pay for the wall, then restock the reserve with the lower priced oil on the market today.
So the claim goes. But one has to wonder, if the crash was as severe as claimed to make money available for bailout purposes, was the bailout really necessary or were the funds really repaid? Something is amiss of at least has the appearance of being so. Not really one for conspiracy theories, but I have seen numerous false flags delivered in my many years on this planet.
Thank you very much, hapnHal. You made my day and kick started 2019 for me.
Yes, indeed, I have seen this idea of Wall Bonds here on FR a few times.
Rep. Palazzo’s bill was introduced about a week after your post.
In fact, I have contacted the White House twice about funding the Wall, etc.
My first plea came before President Trump reluctantly signed that awful Omnibus bill (which at least funded the Military) last year.
At least, my recent emotional entreaty, ahead of the shutdown, garnered more positive results.
I will keep speaking out to the White House and keep praying that our wonderful POTUS achieves his goals of establishing border security and overhauling our horrible immigration system.
Thanks again for the kind words.
I think that’s exactly right, I forgot about that. Activist judges would tie the thing up in the courts for the next century which to me is pretty outrageous. What if a foreign army was head towards our borders with tanks, a million man sized army, is our self defense going to be tied up in the courts?
What could go wrong? Well for one an illegal alien might win. State in the lottery rules that only bona fide citizens can claim winnings. :)
The discussion I was having was about what Trump did or did not do in his first two years, thus, McCain.
Does anybody frigging read for context before posting?
Fair enough!
I guess we’ll never know whether Trump “did enough” to pressure McConnell.
