Do these organizations and agencies ever start off on the RIGHT foot?
It seems as if the people who fight to start or run such organizations are nearly always those with nefarious reasons. Normal people mostly do not want such jobs. People who see how to use it to enrich themselves claw and scratch their way to the top.
Also, most people are not arrogant enough to think they are qualified to run such organizations. It seems that those who think the are qualified rarely are. I look at people like sHitlery and Bill and 0vomit and Kerry, etc, etc., and I think holy crap I’m 10 times smarter than they are, yet they are the ones who think they should be in charge and I think I don’t know enough. (And most of us here are infinitely smarter than Mad Max and Occasional Cortex, yet they are in Congress!!!!!)

With the involvement of Frank Stanton in the Radio Project and his position in the CBS research department, it is possible the "creative curiosity" of Orson Welles came from conversations within these business circles. A detailed documentary on these circles and the ideas behind social manipulation was made by the BBC, called The Century of the Self.
There has been continued speculation the panic generated by War of the Worlds inspired officials to cover up unidentified flying object evidence, avoiding a similar panic. U.S. Air Force Captain Edward J. IIRC, What I read years ago was a declassified CIA document to the effect that they set up the media folks, including Orson Welles, to pull it off.
It's arguable as to what % of the population were how terrified. The mythos about it is evidently as interesting as the facts.
Nevertheless, the government DID use that whole thing as justification for maintaining strict UFO secrecy.
Evidently the panic was on the part of small percentages. And it was a small percentage of the population that heard the show to begin with.

I think you’ve made an important point here. How much of the “terror” was really a myth?
The show has been broadcast a couple of times since, once in some foreign country where someone was actually killed. But the person who was killed was killed because the people found out it was fake and were angry at having been deceived.
And then I’ve noticed that there have been a few recent discussions of the whole thing. A Freakonomics podcast, for one. Have these recent discussions been done to reinforce the possibly false idea that the public can’t handle the truth? How accurate are they? (Freakonomics has also had a series this summer/fall of CEO interviews and most or all of those CEOs have since resigned. Coincidence???)
At my age, I don't care greatly who believes what about my convictions and assessments of and constructions on reality.

I have soaked up tons of information over many decades of life as a matter of being an info hog. I didn't keep refs for most of it. I don't recall refs for a lot of it.
Nevertheless, I will continue to share my impressions and constructions on reality from my observations, inferences, conclusions whenever I care to in whatever venue affords an attractive opportunity.

Absolutely indeed. It still boggles my mind that so many are soooooooo skeptical when there is more than ample evidence of such hideousness. Liz Crokin is an excellent source and her assertions have never been successfully debunked.

I think the public needs to know the full truth eventually.
If someone is actually eating babies, do you think she just up and started doing that overnight? No. Someone gradually conditioned her to think this was a good idea.
In the same way, the public needs to be prepared for the full truth. We can’t be slapped in the face with it suddenly.
If your friend’s husband dies of a heart attack, you don’t call her up and say “hey, your husband is dead”. You break it to her gently. And maybe if she is in the middle of some other serious event - like she’s in labor giving birth, you wait. But you HAVE TO TELL HER. You can’t keep hiding it.
If we don’t learn full the truth, we can’t prevent the same thing from happening again.
I may not choose to learn about the gory details just as I do not choose to watch slasher movies. But I want the info available to adults who choose to know. Hiding the truth is not the answer.
Though I don’t watch horror movies, I have a basic idea of what is in them. If I ever needed to watch them (maybe to understand what my kids had been exposed to or something), I would. I would not want someone “protecting” me from them if I had a need to know. I’d want a warning about the content and I’d want the freedom to choose.
So for the purposes of government secrecy surrounding DS crimes, I want the freedom to choose. I’d want to know the general idea and I’d want to be free to research the details. Perhaps there could be levels of information and warning with each level. Kind of like movie ratings.

Perhaps in 50 years. It’s just my opinion, based on liberal friends of mine.
They will accept nothing derogatory against Hillary or Obama, especially regards child trafficking or child sacrifice.
With enough evidence, I believe they would accept crimes or treason, although I’m sure they would find an excuse for it - they were misinformed, they were taken advantage of or it was a poor judgement call.
To avoid mass rioting in the streets, the crimes have to be something the general public can be convinced of. Otherwise, they will be convinced that President Trump is politically motivated and carrying on a witch hunt.
For this country to heal and come together, people have to finally be able to back the government.
Good luck with that happening in Trumps case. Something better be done.
