All humans are descended from just TWO people and a catastrophic event almost wiped out ALL species 100,000 years ago, scientists claim
- Genetic 'bar codes' of five million animals from different species were surveyed
- The research deduced that humans and animals sprang from single pair
- This happened after a catastrophic event a long time after the last ice age
All modern humans descended from a solitary pair who lived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago, scientists say.
Scientists surveyed the genetic 'bar codes' of five million animals - including humans - from 100,000 different species and deduced that we sprang from a single pair of adults after a catastrophic event almost wiped out the human race.
These bar codes, or snippets of DNA that reside outside the nuclei of living cells, suggest that it's not just people who came from a single pair of beings, but nine out of every 10 animal species, too
Stoeckle and Thaler, the scientists who headed the study, concluded that ninety percent of all animal species alive today come from parents that all began giving birth at roughly the same time, less than 250 thousand years ago - throwing into doubt the patterns of human evolution.

I just recently watched a show, Im guessing on The Hitler Channel, featuring a researcher that works on the remains of the real tower. You should watch for it to rerun, it was pretty good. He goes into the engineer and shows recreations based on evidence left, ruins of similar structures, and documentation from the time.

“This happened after a catastrophic event a long time AFTER the last ice age “
The Ice Age ended around 10-9000 BC, so it must have happened during the American Revolution, else the statement meant to read: a long time BEFORE the last ice age. Problem is the Pleistocene (Ice Age) began 1.6 million years ago and does not square with the 250,000 year claim.
Another claim: “last known extinction we know of was during the time of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.”
Just not so. After the Ice age ended most of the large mammals were extinct and the rest passed shortly thereafter.
Who are these ignorant “scientists” or is it ignorant “journalists” twisting dates to match their preconceptions or just what?
Perhaps they do not mean the last Ice Age (Quaternary), but one of the others:
There have been at least five major ice ages in the Earth’s history
Huronian: 2,400,000,000 - 2,100,000,000 y.a.
Cryogenian: 850,000,000 - 630,000,000 y.a.
Andean-Saharan: 460,000,000 - 420,000,000 y.a
Karoo Ice Age: 360,000,000 - 260,000,000 y.a.
Quaternary Ice Age: 2,580,000 - 10,000 y.a.
So something does not make any sense even so. Sensational fake news for those who slept through most of junior and high school passing on to sleep through most of college as well.

The title and author would be very useful for us, thanks. It's the best-selling book of all time. I prefer the New King James translation.

Two people that survived the mass extinction. Doesn’t say who THEIR progenitors were, or how many origins those that died may have had.

I guess you don't know about the original experiments with flies and then bacteria. Germs evolve. That is why the treatments must continually change. Evolution is most certainly observable and provable. Remaining theory relates to the origins of more complex species.
Now, self adapting biological organisms IS a wonderful design of Creation.

I dont buy it. I cant believe in 4000 generations humans became as diverse a species as we have become. What happened to the children of these two? At what point did the human species gene pool all of a sudden become succeptible to the damages of inbreeding?

Hi GingisK...
When I speak of evolution, I’m referring to “molecules to man”. Adaptation (which is what is happening with the bacteria and fruit flies) is not evolution.... and you’re right, it is part of God’s design.
A couple of responses to what you wrote:
***I guess you don’t know about the original experiments with flies and then bacteria. ***
On the bacteria..... Lenski’s experiment recently surpassed the 60,000th generation. They are still bacteria. Certain traits are turned on or off based on environment but they are still bacteria. No “upward” change has occurred.... just a lot of shuffling.
As for the flies.... no matter how many generations they go and no matter how many times mutations are introduced, what they wind up with are fruit flies, dead fruit flies and damaged fruit flies.
Our kids are being taught that there was a magic gene in a mud puddle billions of years ago and today.... well here we are! This most certainly is not observable, testable or falsifiable.
***Germs evolve. That is why the treatments must continually change.***
This is something that is observable.
Actually, antibiotic resistance results from less information, not more. It doesn’t evolve, essentially it devolves.
Antibiotics are injected into the cell and combine with an existing enzyme to create the poison that kills the bacteria. In the end the bacteria that survive do so because they lacked the enzyme to begin with.
The bacteria didn’t evolve something to fight the antibiotic. Essentially they were missing something that was necessary to create the poison.
It is actually a population of bacteria that is affected. Some die, some don’t.... it has nothing to do with evolution.
There have actually been bacterium revived from the 1800s that were resistant to antibiotics that weren’t developed until the 20th century.... obviously it had nothing to do with development of resistance.
I heard a great presentation on this a few years back from Dr. Kevin Anderson of the Creation Research Society.
There are some great articles on antibiotic resistance on the Answers in Genesis website if you are interested.
Blessings to you....

Civilization destroys itself over and over again and rebuilds from almost nothing. All that remains is passed down as ancient knowledge and stored in Holy Books.

Hi raybbr...
***At what point did the human species gene pool all of a sudden become succeptible to the damages of inbreeding?***
According to scripture, Adam and Eve were created perfectly. One of the things that happened when they sinned is that the perfect creation became subject to decay.... mutations would be a part of that.
God says in Leviticus 18:6 - “No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations”.
By the biblical timeline, that would have been about 2,500 years after Adam and Eve had been created. Prior to that it would have been common for close relatives to marry.
At that point, close relatives would have both had the same mutations and neither of them would have had a “good” gene to pass on to their children.
Also, according to biblical genealogies, there have been nowhere near 4,000 generations. Complete genealogies from Adam to Christ (I’m talking illustrations) can be found on line. Obviously you can read the genealogies in scripture... Luke 3 and Matthew 1.

Looks like you are very much up to speed. I marvel at the adaptability of life. It makes it very clear to me that we're look at a very remarkable collection of engineering feats.
Bugs to human. Oh, heck no. I don't even believe that something as astounding as an eyeball, let alone color stereo vision could form accidentally.
Totally with you on that "no upward change" observation. Accidents just don't go that way, except for my meeting my lovely wife. I strongly suspect that was no accident either.

Not surprising: deliberate. Never admit anything.
They once categorically denounced the Bible’s historicity because the Hittite Empire was a complete myth.
Then they discovered Hattushah, its capital city,... and it was just on to the next pretext to categorically denounce the historicity of the Bible.
SOP.
