Three American service members were killed in a roadside bomb attack in Afghanistan on Tuesday, marking the deadliest day for U.S. forces in the embattled country this year.

Three American troops were killed and three others were wounded in the attack in the notorious Taliban hotbed – Ghazini city – after their armored vehicle drove over a massive bomb buried under the road. An American contractor was also wounded in the attack.

Including Tuesday’s attack, 12 Americans have been killed in combat in Afghanistan this year. Five Americans have been killed this month alone.

We grieve when we receive news like this. May God bless and comfort the families effected, and, also, the families who have lost sons and father’s who were doing their jobs as policemen on streets which have become very unsafe for them.
I grieve for you, America, and for what you have become through the lust of power, greed and Godlessness. Only God can lift us up out of the mire we find ourselves in. May all those who grieve, know that He gives strength and comfort, not in reserve, but as we need it. Be sure to reach out to someone in need during this blessed Christmas Season. Such folks are all around us.

Why the heck are we still there? President Trump awhile back agreed to a few more troops, for a short time, to prepare for turning the mess back over to the corrupt leaders. President Trump was played. We’re still meddling and fighting in places we don’t belong.

One reason is the precious medals that are in that country.

I agree.

We don’t need to be there.

The precious metals in that country are not an acceptable reason for us to be there.

On the balance sheet, it shows that three brave American servicemen were worth more that the whole d@mn "country" (and I use the term loosely).

Mr. Trump bring our boys home, please.

Correct not a good reason but many conservatives would disagree unfortunately. I wish Trump would just pull us out...

When was the last year or two when we weren't at war. I'd have to google it to find out!

President Trump really really needs to consider how he would process it if one of his precious sons or grandsons was shredded driving over a taliban road bomb

Would it be noble? Did it advance some American freedom or right?
Send your own sons or bring ours home

Oh and Merry Christmas forever for those families, remembering it as a time of funerals and death

We are still in Afghanistan because we are NOT going to hand it back to the Taliban.

So what’s your alternative? That we stay there forever? Because despite the fantasies of an Afghan government, the minute we leave the islamists will take back over. We wasted those lives. That used to be the term... Wasted.

We are not going to hand it (Afghanistan) back to the Taliban.

Why not? We've installed govs with the sole purpose of having them favor the US, and they have stuck to their own loyalties. Our reason (excuse?) for being there no longer exists. The terrorists are from Saudi Arabia, our friend. It's past time to refuse to vote for pols who put globalist, corporate interest first. I fear that the disloyal 'pub majorities in the HOR and US Senate these past two years have put the survival of the US in a worse situation than before President Trump took office. We need to get out of the Mideast, dump Saudi Arabia (as we should've after 911) and worry about our own hemisphere.

It really hit home on a cruise I just cam back from. I was astounded that Aruba has a really bad refugee problem because it's so close to Venezuela. What's happening at our southern border is a symptom of a hemisphere that's becoming unlivable.

I have kids born after this fiasco started and face the possibility that it may still continue as they reach adulthood. Is this nation trying to fashion itself after Europe and have its own hundred year war.
The generals and politicians who advocate for this policy should be forced to attend every funeral and explain what good the death of their loved one accomplished. In addition I would have their offices located in Afghanistan for as long as this continues.

I grieve for these families losing their loved ones. At this point I still don’t see a coherent plan for Afghanistan, never have.

I think if is time to leave this crap hole with this warning. You form terrorist training camps, you fund terrorists who kill Americans and we will return and kill everyone in these camps, either by special forces raids or air strikes.

Forget this Colin Powell nation building BS. You have to have a totally defeated and subjugated population to do this, Germany and Japan, otherwise it is a waste of blood and treasure. Let these fools live like 7th century hermits until hell freezes over.
