Charles Guiteau shot President Garfield on 2 July, 1881. Garfield died on 19 September, 9 weeks following. Guiteau was executed on 28 June 1882, almost a year following his crime.

Leon Czolgosz on 6 September, 1901 shot President McKinley. Czolgosz was executed fewer than 2 months after his crime on 29 October, 1901.

Lee Oswald was shot to death on 24 November, 1963, two days after the assassination of President Kennedy, despite the fact that absolutely nobody saw Oswald commit this crime.

I really believe he was part of a plot, Jack Ruby shot and killed him the next day on TV so he would keep his mouth shut!

The problem with that idea is that there was no way for Ruby to have knowingly timed his arrival to coincide with Oswald’s departure. IIRC, Oswald was scheduled to be transferred earlier but the move was delayed, I believe by the huge media crowd in the building.

Oswald was shot on Sunday nov 24th (not Sat) around 11:30am CST. I remember it was as we were getting ready to leave for 1pm mass.
