I had an unfortunate event happen to me this morning. For a semi-retirement job I decided to substitute teach. After hearing 2 black students tell me they hated history, I began to extol the rich contributions of blacks to American history. Moments later I was escorted to the office by the principal and escorted to the door. He implied I was a racist and we do not single out black students in our school. The parents of the students are coming in to support the students. and I will be blacklisted from subbing in county schools.I learned firsthand the sensitivity of race in American Schools and how Politically Correct educators must be in government schools.
And in many cases, the tribes traded those slaves with Arabs who would then sell them across the Atlantic.
These Arabs refined the slave trade and their direct progeny count among themselves one Barak Obama, Sr.
Believe me if I ever sub again, I’m going to stay clear of AA students. I’m not going to come alongside of them and help them with their work. I’m not going to try to encourage them in anyway or try to help them see the real world outside. I am going to look at each one as a potential lawsuit or a career-ender.

I would argue that - if there was a next time - and you persisted in “singling” out black for extra attention, you would face even more problems.

Why focus on race anyway? Hate history, ask why, suggest impportance through examples. But too late. You played the liberal race card and got bit. Race should not have been part of the discussion.
I’m just a 63 year old discouraged old fart. I tried to do right. I tried to engage the students, maybe with a little liberal pandering. Instead I was treated like scum and escorted out of the school by Principal and Vice-Principal with their lofty sounding words. I’m just lost in this generation. I love all students because they are “imagio Deo” created in the image of God. What I experienced today was cold, hard PC racism and if this is what American Schools have become, then God help us!
Plenty would not exist were it not for black pioneers; here’s a very small glimpse at what modern day inventions came from the African American community.

Bless your heart! This was all I was trying to say. At another school I showed a group of Black students this list and their eyes lit up and they said. These men look like my daddy and I want to be like them someday! This is all I want. I want all Americans to be included in the mosaic of accomplishment.

Not racist at all. Perhaps the 2 students felt like the spot light was on them. Which could be rectified by the principle saying “Please do not single out those 2 students” anymore. They feel awkward about it. There. Done.
I can understand. A black girl I met who hated sports told me she couldn’t stand it when people asked her how good she was at basketball. Just annoyed. That’s all. Not a freaking federal case.
Same here in Canada, which is why we have kids in private school. We did have the provincial health nurse hounding us though asking why we wouldn’t get our 11 year old the Gardisil vaccination.
Especially since they do not teach.
