A new study shows men who have full beards are more attractive than men who are clean-shaven.
The study was published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology.
Researched asked more than 8,500 women to rate men on their attractiveness as a long-term romantic partner, Yahoo News reported.
Here’s how the facial hair rated:
1. Heavy stubble (10 days)
2. Full beards
3. Light stubble
4. Clean-shaven
“Beards may be more attractive to women when considering long‐term than short‐term relationships as they indicate a male’s ability to successfully compete socially with other males for resources,” the study concluded.
Beards, the researchers said, are associated with a man’s age and masculine social dominance.

Heh. My wife and I BOTH adhere to the idea that the key to a happy marriage is to put your spouse first. It’s worked really, really well for us for over 20 years now. And we were both married before. 20 years the first time for me. This is completely different.
My advice to all young married men: Take out the garbage BEFORE she asks, and never tire of it. :)
They came up with that idea because response to pilot shorts revealed he looked to adolescent to be a tough guy cop. That caught on because it was simple. His barefeet fad died in a hurry because it was stupid, sweaty and uncomfortable.
This beard phenomenon came about after 9/11 and crept into American culture. It’s quite bizarre.
Does beards refer to facial hair or does it refer to a gay guy with a girlfriend?
All the old men on my block have white beards that make them almost indistinguishable from one another. I always threaten to grow a beard myself and join the grumpy old alcoholic men’s club. My wife has a fit and threatens to cut me off... so I keep shaving.
I do recall that. Early in our involvement in Afghanistan in late 2001/early 2002, there were a number of news articles and some debate in the military regarding our special forces operatives and how they were wearing beards in order to ingratiate themselves with the indigenous Afghans with whom they were living and fighting. Coincidentally or not, I saw a lot of beards start sprouting around that time.

In today’s America, after these stolen elections, that’s probably a good thing.
I find shaving daily too irritating physically and too annoying psychologically. I shave once every 7-10 days.
I guess I am periodically attractive. Whatever.
I have periodic stubble, and have changed several tires over the years - and even rebuilt a carburettor. I guess I win, sort of...
It ain't beards that make a man unattractive.
You probably won't find too many of the womenfolk complaining about these guys.
I hate beards. Total turnoff.
Without my beard I look younger than my wife. She can’t stand that. :)
