Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 85, fractured three ribs in a fall in her office Wednesday night, according to a statement from the Supreme Courts public information office.
Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on the left side, the statement said. She was taken to George Washington University Hospital.
Ginsburg has survived several fights with cancer and had heart surgery in 2014, according to CNBC. She has beaten pancreatic and colon cancer, the two deadliest forms of the disease.
People, especially younger people, were offering the octogenarian affectionately known as RBG their own ribs on social media Thursday morning. They even started the hashtag #RibsForRuth on Twitter.

You could be right. Many don’t survive beyond 30 days.
Seen it too many times.
just put her brain in a jar with a voice amplifier. that will keep seat for awhile.
They had better be willing to part with their pancreas - because I believe the "left rib fractures" are just liberal speak for pancreatic cancer.
If so, she probably has months left at the most.
My husband fell and broke 3 ribs in June. That was the beginning of the end. He passed away October 20th. He was 79.
I’m rooting for the pneumonia.
I’m tired of the anti-American liberal who hates me and my country and rules against my rights.
Yeah that was my point. Just getting the cracked ribs to heal will take longer at that age than it would take at a younger age. Even for a young person taking on donated ribs would be a lengthy recuperation period. At 85 she would probably pass before they healed all the way.
I’m sorry for your loss.
I won’t offer ribs, but how bout a good pull pork sammich?
crazy people ping!

Sadly, no one wants to give her a conscience....
In the Japan of the future (at least the future as it was from 1984) there are underground black clinics where people get ambushed and sent to for organ harvesting. If youre rich enough you can afford new young hearts, lungs, kidneys etc.
Santa Monica Observer is reporting that she told her clerks that she is out of remission and will be retiring January 2019. Make of this information what you will.
“I wish her a full and speedy recovery, but I dont have any organs to spare. Ill save fingernail clippings if that will help.”
I’ve got some excess ear wax! If she likes, I’ll save the Qtips.
She could very well come back from it - she’s a very tough lady; and Thank You for your kind consideration toward the elderly.
I was once stuck at home alone in a huge snowstorm, with the worst ‘flu of my life, and husband out of town with our only car. I was coughing so hard that I did something bad to myself - either cracked a rib or sprained my diaphragm.
Took many weeks to heal and my breathing hasn’t been the same since. I wouldn’t wish that pain and disability on anyone.
It’s kind of ghoulish for the Freepers to be posting here like turkey buzzards waiting for roadkill; doesn’t look good for us, especially considering the power that we have now.
I like to think that ‘noblesse oblige’ is still an ideal...
And we are told they are our future...
“I wish her a full and speedy recovery, but I dont have any organs to spare...”
I have an old Hammond organ I’ll give her!
So, you’re going to hang on to your appendix? Just wait until it burst, you’ll wish you had donated it to poor ol’ Ruthie.
Huge difference.
