New York Giants backup quarterback Kyle Lauletta — who many fans believe should replace Eli Manning as the team’s starter — was busted in New Jersey on Tuesday morning for allegedly nearly hitting a police officer with his car, according to a report.

The 23-year-old rookie from the University of Richmond was on his way to Big Blue’s practice facility in East Rutherford when he failed to obey an officer’s directions in Weehawken, NJ.com reported.

He came close to striking the cop with his car.

And the problem with college football is that it’s full of players who only care about what their Draft Stock is going to be, rather than playing for the team.

Nick Bosa is a perfect example.

NFL players actually have a lower crime rate than their peers outside of the NFL.

Really? Their peers are college educated professionals.

Giants can’t seem to get a break.

I thought last year after they stocked up their defense with multi-million dollar talent and a star receiver they would go deep in the playoffs.(I’m a Dallas fan, btw)

Nope.

Even with a hellofa running back they still can’t win two games together(neither can Dallas)

Snakebit I tell ya, snakebit...

I shall give it a go with the NCAA.

I heard rumors there is a new football league forming to take advantage of the non-patriotism of the NFL.

They would have to offer entertainment and talent also, but I would give them a chance.

The NFL could fix this. All NFL players should have 24/7 babysitter/chauffeurs. That or stop signing criminals and irresponsible jerks.

It could be Tulsa vs Central Michigan and I’ll watch it.

My dad played football for Central Michigan 66 years ago. I still have his letterman jacket ...

Peers is an incredibly vague term :)

I guess my “peer” can be whatever aspect of myself I decide it to be at a given moment.

My values, my physical aspects, my age and sex, or just my age, or just my sex, or all men or just white guys.

Peers. It is very malleable :)

"Nearly. So he wasn’t hit. Obey what? Maybe he missed the directions. What was the cop doing? Arrested not hitting a cop? Need more details."

Agree 100% - sounds more like arrested for disrespecting a cop, when he should have simply been ticketed for an illegal right turn.

Over the last five years this once-proud NFL franchise has managed to make the Cleveland Browns look like a well-managed organization. It’s astonishing.

Too bad Tom Coughlin no longer coaches the Giants.

This clod would gladly rather take his chances with the legal system.

Don’t they just usually shoot you for doing that?

Only if you don't have a dog.

The Giants are such a dumpster fire. Maybe this rookie figured he would be traded somewhere for his role in this incident. Cleveland would be an upgrade. Fly, Eagles.

The NFL has always been a 'blue collar" sport and with that draws from a pool of talent from the rougher edge of society. Back in the day players only got arrested in the visiting team's city or the crime was unusally brutal. With the internet EVERYTHING is revealed so it cannot be swept under the rug.

One difference though was ALL the players were insanely PATRIOTIC and wouldn't tolerant a "pinko" in the locker room. They would "settle" with the said pinko in their own manner and thus removed from the sport.

That’s oool!

Football is one of those games I wish I could have played when I was younger. But I was skinny and uncoordinated. By the time I gained some weight and coordination, I was past that.

Thought I’m a Big 10 guy (Univ of Minnesota), I’ve always enjoyed watching MAC football - especially the MAC Championship. That trophy is more sought after than a post-season bowl win.

Nick Bosa is a perfect example.

Not sure about that. Bosa is gone for the season, and had never planned to come back for his Senior year anyhow. I'd also bet that he's probably about 3 years short of credits for graduation.

Given that, he's more of a team player than you'd think. By leaving the team and the school to get ready for the National Felon's League, he freed up a spot for another undeserving jock to 'roid it up on the school's dime.

What happened to the 4 NFL players arrested in London for trying to walk out on a $64,000 club bill. ???
