It's a shame Democrats such as Maxine Waters, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Cory Booker and many more don't read this and learn from it but it doesn't fit their agenda.

That’s classy. Thanking people in a thankless job, it’s not much, but it’s a way of sharing humanity.

Then there was the meter master who had my ticket all programmed in his machine and ready to go. I got to my car - I had it timed on my cell phone to the second] before the meter expired, started the engine, but could not move because he blocked the way, the meter expired, he printed the ticket and handed it to me.
So, some of them are nasty jerks who deserve more than all the abuse they get.
Like all law enforcement, the good guys an gals would get a lot more respect if they worked to drive the bad guys and gals out of their ranks.

Thanking law enforcement officers - yes.
Thanking meter maids - not so much. Parking is nothing but a cash cow racket for the city & towing industry.

“The kind response I received after thanking a thanking a parking enforcement officer” would have been a very accurate headline for this article but these days you have to amp it up to “amazing” “stunning” or add “you’ll never believe what happened next” to achieve maximum clickbait.

Law enforcement officers of whatever variety/job are the thin blue line that separate us from the crazies.
I, for one, am glad they’re there.

I’m nice to people all the time, but don’t write articles about it.

You have to “lay down your pride” to be kind to someone. WTF.
And you don’t do it until SOMEONE ELSE tells you the job sucks.

Admittedly, complimenting a parking-enforcement officer would be a very hard thing to do.

Here's a funny clip about a parking ticket.
https://youtu.be/kxPgia7-QRg
Meter readers are useless people doing evil work. I paid $1,500 yearly in parking tickets when living in Berkeley. Sacramento receives $30 million yearly from Bay Area parking fees. Downtown Oakland has parking meters on every street and downtown Oakland remains empty. Ventura placed parking meters on Main Street to generate income and all the small business owners complain about low customer sales. And another thing...

From what I’ve seen, parking enforcement is the only part of the DC City government that is not dysfunctional... They actually accomplish their job with brutal efficiency. Lol

For three years I had an office on the corner of 13th and K Street in downtown DC. My office was on the corner and I could watch the street. There was a fat black parking enforcement woman who would walk down the sidewalk and ticket every car legally parked by the park that was catty-corner from my office, whether or not the meters had expired.
