Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.

"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

Wouldn’t that be great if Trump could get it done and not need Congress?

I was just trying to remember the last time I make meatballs. I think I used Lidia’s recipe, which is quite interesting. She has you grind up pancetta, celery, and carrots in a food processor. And then mix that with the meat and egg and breadcrumbs. It really is quite flavorful and moist. I substituted bacon. Or maybe that was her bolognese sauce. Yes I think it was the bolognese sauce, but the meatballs still have the carrots and celery pulverized and added.

I haven’t cooked anything in so long because of my arm pain. It’s probably the thing I miss the most, next to picking up my little Yorkie and taking him hiking. I told my new physical therapist my goal is to be taking my dog hiking by Christmas. That’s my Christmas present that I want. If I can make spaghetti and meatballs, that would be just an added blessing.

I think this one was a jar. In fact I’m sure it was. I’m going to Google and see if they still have it. I got the idea from them and now I add a few pesto cubes into my marinara sauce sometimes. And I really like that in the pesto into a bechamel sauce.

Although I learned the hard way not to add pesto to anything with shrimp. The shrimp turns green and it doesn’t look appetizing at all.

Before my retirement, I used to spread biscotti around at work to get my computer jobs run with a higher priority.

I don’t see it on there Bertolli homepage. Well it might be another brand. Or it could be they don’t make it anymore, this was about 20 years ago. When I was working I needed something handy four nights I didn’t want to cook.
New line
Well my tablet just went to sleep and I have to plug it in so I might as well go to sleep to.

Sweet dreams!

That anise seed sounds interesting. I don’t think I have any. Does it give it a licorice essence?

I like mine with hazelnuts. I like anything with hazelnuts. I planted to hazelnut trees and I’m so excited because they are growing well. My mother was from Trieste, and hazelnuts there are used like peanuts are here. It’s probably the same way all over Italy.

The anise seed gives it a very slight licorice taste, no more than that. It’s just plain yummy.

He is STILL playful and has a TON of toys!
You know which one is his favorite?
My small hand held mop duster!

It looks like a floor mop except it’s hand held, and bends to get under stuff, between the blinds, etc.
He tackled it so much and took it away from me, that I finally let him keep it, and bought myself another one!

Sometimes he walks around the house with it in his mouth, throws it up in the air and such.
He also LOVES his laser toy!
He chases that red dot all over creation!

I bought him a little collapsible house, that he likes to hide in with his toys!
You would not be bored with him around!
When I brush my teeth, he puts his paws in the water and acts like he us trying to stop it from going down the drain!
Then he takes a few sips and gets down off the bathroom vanity.
Yeesh!
LOL
P.S. I am not sure of his lineage-but he sure looks like a Maine Coon Cat to me!

Great idea!

I’m thinking about making this for Christmas gifts for neighbors and friends.

I only saw a Maine Coon cat once — back in 1992 at a bed and breakfast in Medford, OR. At first I wondered if someone had bred a mountain lion with a housecat, but he turned out to be a sweetheart.

He is young yet, he will be two in May of next year
(a guesstimate)
But he already weighs about 13 lbs.
I wouldn’t call this one sweetheart, but he is friendly and curious. He ADORES my husband, and walks around crying after he goes to work.
LOL
He’s a mans cat!
He just tolerates me!
