Very common virus in the system of latin immigrants causes this. The virus doesn’t cause paralysis directly, it’s more like a reaction to the virus rather than the virus itself.

Very early when Obama had let in the flood of illegals there was a story about the illegal immigrants. The story mentioned in passing how many of the immigrants in the camps had the virus in their systems. The immigrants just experienced mild stomach upset, nothing serious because their systems were adapted to it. However now it’s forbidden to mention that the virus is associated with latin immigrants.

Officially, it’s just a mystery these kids came across the virus. We’ll probably never know why these cases of paralysis are popping up.

We were in Batavia last month. One of my kids leaves near there. Very nice area, low crime rate. But their town government wants to build a bunch of low income housing, to promote “diversity”. The citizens aren’t having it; I hope they win.

Acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) is a rare but serious neurologic illness of sudden onset, usually in children. It presents with localised limb weakness of unknown cause. A leading candidate for the cause of the condition is enterovirus 68, a member of the enterovirus genus and thus related to poliovirus. The illness is not new, but its increased incidence since 2014 is new, and the existing literature about it is tentative and should not be taken as established medical opinion. There is no established treatment for the condition or the virus that may cause it.

It’s very hard to understand which kids are going to react this way and which aren’t,” Lurie’s Malakooti said.

BULL BLEEPING POOP.

Do you want your kids not to get flaccid paralysis as a sequela of a mild enterovirus??? It’s easy: keep their blood levels of vitamin D high.

Even in the early 1900s this was true. Kids who were taken to a beach house for the summer didn’t get it much but the families who lived in darkened narrow city streets fell prey much more.

Pretty much every kid will get the enterovirus when exposed. Most will be symptom free, but some will have a tummy ache, or a “stomach bug” or a “cold.” Only the absolute worst cases will end up with flaccid paralysis. And those will be the kids who were lowest in vitamin d or otherwise immunocompromised.

Lots of “acute flaccid” going around. The blue pill can sometimes help relieve that.

A one-in-a-million disease that seems
to spike in September. With leads me
to believe it’s associated with
mosquitos. Just my opinion.
