I live in Louisiana, and I may have been affected by Hurricane Michael.

I use a WiFi HotSpot (portable) and apparently Verizon crashed about 25 minutes ago.

It is working now.

This is the only time that this WiFi hotspot has had a RED LIGHT - indicating it cannot reach the Verizon network.

I live across the street from two CELL Towers, so interference is not a problem...

Interesting - the original headline for your post:

“Michael and North Florida, Alabama & Tennesee”

The current headline on your post:

“Michael and North Florida, Alabama, Tennesee & Georgia”

Looks like some moderator must care about Georgia.

Don’t want conditions from Michael to hurt GOP voting in the Florida panhandle in a few weeks.

They should have evacuated. Hurricanes are not something to be taken lightly. Of course there was very little lead time for people to do so with this hurricane. I live 80 miles from New Orleans but I still evacuated up to Mississippi. Getting back to the house was difficult because of downed trees blocking the roads, But I finally found a route in. Thankfully a big oak tree in the back yard fell in the only direction it could fall and not do damage. But there were trees down all over the yard. Took almost a month for power to be restored. Hopefully the only things they lose are things that can be replaced.

They live 70 miles from coast. Live in a house that has stood for over sixty years. This is a unique event. My family along the coast evacuated, we are survivors and do not give up easily.

there was very little lead time

There was PLENTY of lead time. People along the coast know to be prepared and for heaven's sake, this was warned about last Friday! It is kinda hard to miss the 24/7 drama queens on TV howling about the storm and it is a big honkin' storm!

georgiarat, lifting up in prayer those that are affected. May the Governor already have in place assistance ready at the go for afterwards. May Pres Trump have the Governmental Agencies ready to assist those in the affected states.

The trees are swaying crazily. I went outside to examine the fallen tree.

Is that a good idea?

Just got an update from CNN - a Waffle House in southern Georgia turned off the lights and evacuated. That means it’s pretty bad out there. (Not a joke - I heard it just prior to hitting the mute button.)

Having gone through Katrina, I have been saying some prayers for them ever since Michael reached Cat # - I can imagine what they are going through and it makes my heart ache for them....the clean up and rebuilding keep the pain alive for a long time.
