At 1418 this afternoon, I did not receive the presidential test alert. I'm a little worried. I know several people that received it, no problem, same area code, same town, but not me. What did I do? Was it a technical glitch? My phone was on, I waited purposefully to see the screen that says I got it. But I didn't get it. So what now? Do I contact my senator and complain, maybe it was something I did in my past, maybe it was a phone conversation that was previously recorded by the NSA, I just don't know what to think of it!
I'm worried. What if there was a thermonuclear launch and I'm putzing around my yard whistling a Happy tune. My phone doesn't alert me to Run for Cover and suddenly without warning, it's 100 million degrees Celsius before I realize what's even happening. Can you imagine getting stuck in a situation such as that? I want to talk to the president, I think he needs to hear my concerns. Maybe I'll send off a quick online email to my senator, who is the Republican, he would understand.
By the way, it is now 1515 local time and still no test has arrived on my Android. I could be Dust in the Wind at this point in time had it been an actual Thermonuclear launch and alert. I don't even know if I could get to sleep tonight over this. I have a safe place in my garage that I occupy when there are tornadoes imminent. Maybe I should go in there... I just recently bombed it for insect infestation so it should be pretty clean... I need some soup, some chicken soup, and warm homemade bread like Mama used to make. but first I have to go putz around the yard it is finally dry enough to mow and maybe my mowing will take me to "that other place where men go" when mowing.
Apparently some providers did not get the alert even though they were set up to receive it. AT&T is one.
Love the humorous responses.
Per FEMA:
Only WEA compatible cell phones that are switched on and within range of an active cell tower, and whose wireless provider participates in WEA will be capable of receiving the test message.
For the technical analysis: This was the fourth BROADCAST (radio and TV) National Test. It was the FIRST test for wireless (cell phones). I can assure you, there were numerous stations with problems on the first broadcast test. Cellular will have to sort out their problems just like broadcast did.
For the record, I didnt get it on my cell, but others around me did.
I didn’t get it either. Two year old iPhone 6 with Verizon carrier.
I got it on my LG TracFone. TracFone uses the Verizon network.
Don't know about the low life part. But you are a newbie.
Make your contributions, monthly if you can, and stick around awhile. That newbie thing will pass.
You did not receive the call? You know that means you were the winner of a special price!
Take your phone to the post office and tell them you did not receive the call And that you are there to receive your prize!
Did you show them to the Flag of the United States and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with them? THATS usually the best part of their visit. (as well as the last one you will ever receive)
Got some weird “Nuking Iraq” txt a while a go.....
That’s ok. You can have mine.
When I get one not related to national security, a flu shot or some other BS, it is game on.
Yeah.
“I didn’t receive the POTUS alert”
I did. It said that Sessions was going to indict the Clintons and obama and all the other crooks in congress.
Of course, yes.
I guess I received your alert, I got two of them.
You can’t begin to know how happy he’ll be to finally speak with you. He’s been trying for days.
Are you sure you’re logged in?
Actually, yes, yes they did :-)
