NEW YORK -- Paul Simon wraps up his farewell concert tour Saturday night at a park in Queens, a bicycle ride across the borough from where he grew up. The 76-year-old singer picked Flushing Meadows Corona Park to say goodbye, an outdoor show on the first night of autumn.

The setlist at recent stops has ranged from his first 1960s hit with ex-partner Art Garfunkel, "The Sound of Silence," to selections from a disc released weeks ago.

Simon isn't retiring, and hasn't ruled out occasional future performances. But he's said this is his last time out on the road, and he isn't alone among his peers; Elton John and Kiss are also doing goodbye swings.

That SNL photo reminds me of the show PS did an acoustic duet with George Harrison...if memory serves correctly.

He also did a skit with him playing one-on-one with Connie Hawkins, and beating him.

I’m not really a fan but I’d say yeah, he’s up there.

Dylan was and is always much more the lyricist than the composer

Good call. But coming from a folk background, one wouldn't expect Dylan's music to be overly complex, while Simon is more of a fusion composer, and it shows in his tunes.

He sure had a great run, and is near the top of any list that is based on the only objective criteria of commercial success. Otherwise, just listen to what you like and enjoy.

#Me2. (LOL)
It was just wonderful. Especially loved “Mother and Child Reunion,” as my daughter took me to the concert.

[Well, he’s also a leftist asshole.]

Showbiz people tend to be. Possibly related to the transiency of their jobs. In what other profession can you peak in your childhood and never get a gig again or even close to that level of success in that field for the rest of your life? For psychological comfort, they want a sugar daddy (big government) to pay the bills until the next gig. It was a Roman senator who first said (in Latin) where you stand depends on where you sit, i.e. what your views are on a given subject depends on your personal circumstances with reference to that subject.

I can’t stand Simon or Garfunkel but they made some great music.

I dated a girl whose favorite was “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” and I admit is was good. “Kodachrome” was one of the swinging est ones ever.

Sure, it was alright I guess. I prefer Dylan. It was just funny to see the split in the audience, very clear male/female split.

I really enjoyed Simon and Garfunkel back in the day. Of course this was when he kept his a$$hole politics to himself. The last I saw of him was at the Demoncrat convention I believe and he sucked as bad as the rat speakers.

Is this his first Farewell Tour?

It is certainly his last. I read a review of a concert of his about a year ago. He is losing his memory and ability to play.

I want to add Kris Kristofferson and Carole King to the list.

That doesn't have anything to do with Mr. Kavanaugh, does it?       :-)

(Maybe this following one could be applied to Christine Boozy Ford,
as she has been rumored to have had over 50 lovers in high school.)

The fourth line is, actually,: “Just listen to me”.

I cut and pasted from a lyrics site. There were a couple of lines that sounded strange. Great song though.
