It is beginning to be obvious that Ford has asked for immunity from prosecution (for perjury) as it is becoming apparent that she is lying. SEVERAL supposed witnesses have no recollection of the party. She has to have asked for immunity from prosecution for what she is trying to do.

That would explain all of the scrambling behind the scenes in the dim party.
Everyone tearing their hair trying to figure out what to do and how to make the senate ignore her.
It might also explain why the repubs are leaning over backwards so far to get her to appear.

From what I read, in MD there is no statute of limitations for felony sexual assault.

It’s not beyond the Rats to file a charge against Kavanaugh in the state of MD, claiming felony sexual assault.
If she did ask for immunity, it will be noted when she testifies. Listen for vague language or, if the GOP has a set, flat out slow walking the explanation AT THE BEGINNING of the testimony, so the entire show can be viewed as FICTION, which it will be.
She has stated there was nothing but touching. In Maryland, a sex offense is unwanted sexual touching. If it happened with Kavanaugh, which I highly doubt, it would be either a third degree sexual offense (under threat of death or severe injury or victim mentally incapacitated, such as being extremely drunk), a felony, or a fourth degree sexual offense (neither threats nor incapacity), a misdemeanor. Third degree seems like a big stretch here. Add to that the fact that Kavanaugh would have been a juvenile at the time and it becomes a great big zero.
She claims she was drunk and that he clamped her mouth shut. Also, she said she thought he was going to kill her.
Seems her account was carefully crafted to cover all the angles of third degree felony.
And hell it was only going to take about 12 minutes so what the heck
I agree. She was coached.
Also, she “thinks” the event happened in 1982, when Kavanaugh was 17. She could suddenly recall that it was in 1983, when he was 18.
Even if a charge had no basis, it would effectively sideline Kavanaugh until that could be sorted out.
What she deserves is different from what she gets. She’s now set to make a million dollars on a book tour.

By leaving the date nebulous and with no one to corroborate the date it happened, it could be argued that K could have actually been 18 at the time.

Winning post. You figured out WHY I posted what I did. She has to be sued for what she has done. Got after her and get every spare dime she can make for the rest of her life for defamation. The negotiations have to involve immunity from prosecution for her for THAT reason.

There’s no way she’d ever be charged with perjury regardless of how many times she lies.In fact I’ve wondered if she’ll even be put under oath.I wouldn’t be even slightly surprised if she’s not placed under oath.
