Those terms violate the commonly accepted conventions of contemporary western rule of law. Kavanaugh should not have to say anything, especially in advance of a PC freak who could bow out at any time for any reason. So it seems to me that this “offer” has the hallmarks of something that is designed to be refused from the beginning. If so, it is all about the midterms and painting republicans as old white patriarchs, unsympathetic to womens’ needs.

I would suggest to them calling the exculpatory witnesses to Ford’s accusations and letting an empty chair speak for Ford, then holding a vote. Meanwhile let a few other bombs from Hillarygate drop, and hopefully drown out any long term negative impact that Ford not being called might have. Like a visit to the dentist, just get it over with.
