For many years, the story of JFKs sister, who had an undiagnosed mental disability and was lobotomized at age 23, was shrouded in mystery.
A vivacious young woman with a sweet disposition, Rosemarys life was dramatically altered when her father decided to have her undergo a pre-frontal lobotomy in November 1941, a procedure that left her with the mental capacities of a toddler and requiring round-the-clock care

“...pre-frontal lobotomy in November 1941...”
Did not know they did that kind of procedure back then.
Damn, poor lady... Not big on the Kennedy Clan, but that’s just horrible.

Yes it was pretty brutal too.
Some actually were more successful than others, there is a movie about an actress who had it forcefully done called ‘Frances’ which is pretty horrifying, but in real life she went on to appear on TV regularly.
They basically stuck an ice pick into an eye socket and swished it around cutting off the front of the brain.

Papa Joe was planning for the future. Rosemary was probably bipolar, and had a tendency to be promiscuous.
He was afraid she'd get into "trouble", and that would put a damper on the political aspirations he had for his sons.

I think you are referring to Frances Farmer who did emerge from a snakepit like mental hospital after a number of years. She made one movie and then emceed a daily TV variety show in Indianapolis for a number of years.

She shared the family’s sexual appetites, but it wasn’t considered appropriate for a sweet Irish Catholic lass to behave like her brothers. So they destroyed her brain to kill the lust.

BS. Her father thought she was sleeping around too much, and would cause embarrassment to the family.
The Nobel Prize winning inventor of the icepick lobotomy, Walter Freeman, claimed that it could cure such “disturbances”.

Surprise, The Kennedy’s are/were horrible,dispicable people
To: Kid Shelleen
Supposedly Rose had the sexual libido of her more famous brothers but in a woman it was a disgrace. It hurt the family's aspirations for power. The lobotomy was the cure.
