Papa Joe was planning for the future. Rosemary was probably bipolar, and had a tendency to be promiscuous.
He was afraid she'd get into "trouble", and that would put a damper on the political aspirations he had for his sons.

I think he was afraid she would tell what daddy did to her when mommy wasn’t home.

The story Rosemary needs to be shouted from the rooftops, today as it should have been throughout modern American history.
A democrat will tear anyone down who threatens “their power”, which is only supposed to be our power.

Despite his "plans" his sons, in this order, were blown up in an explosives laden plane over the English Channel, assassinated by rifle and then small pistol shots to the head, and the last lost any real chance at becoming president by leaving a young girl to drown in his overturned car.
It's hard to say whether the family's bad karma came from Papa Joe's financial misdeeds, boot legging wealth, Nazi sympathies, or what he had done to his daughter. But it was definitely a b****.

Is it possible that she could have been attracted to women, and Joe couldn’t handle that, and had her brains scrambled?
He never could allow anything like that to be associated with the family.
