Personally, I think the Groom dodged a bullet here. Unless he’s the same kind of shallow end of the pool DNA.

At $1,200 and a $60,000 (Canadian) wedding there must have been 50 guests ???

they could have got married on a 5 day cruise for less than that...

Would the guests have objected to a cruise to the Bahamas etc ???

Some people do that...

They get to go on the ship early before the other passengers and the captain marries them and they have a lovely reception with great food and then extra guests will get off the ship while those who are cruising stay on...those extra guests have a special pass to board for that day till sail time...

Note: Fairy tale weddings are for first time everything type brides...this girl wasn’t that type...

Yep... couldn’t agree more! For that $60K event, a cruise would be worth it, then!

Both are lucky to cancel that mess.

No one ever talks about the specifics of a wedding....the things that a bride obsesses over.

Cake, flowers, napkins, color schemes, dresses, etc etc etc etc. 98% of the people attending could care less.

I had a fantastic wedding. Mrs WBill stressed over whether the napkins were the correct shade, and if the flowers matched properly to the whatever. And if the caterer brought the this instead of the that. And a million other things, long since forgotten.

A long, long time later, what do people talk about? Who was there. Who they saw for the last time (it was the last time all of our grandparents' generation got together).

"A Fantastic Party" is the only thing everyone who attended has ever said to me. And it was. We could have met in a barnyard in T-Shirts and Flip Flops, and so long as everyone was comfortable and well-fed, no one would have cared.

Same here. The ladies in the church banded together and organized it, decorated, and even did the reception. About all I had to do was get leave approved, get home and be there on time. Don’t remember, probably paid the train fare back to Florida with wedding gift money! Then found out the Air Force had given me a a trip to Vietnam as a wedding gift. Bounced all over the world with her and just celebrated 53 last week.

I can’t help thinking that the more spent on the wedding the less likely it will succeed.

:::::

Yes, especially since harpies like this spend countless hours planning the one-day party while giving no attention whatsoever to planning the marriage.

That's what sent this Bridezilla into an apoplectic fit...a paroxysm of fury...after her fiancee suggested the Vegas wedding route.

Which is what caused him to ultimately walk away. Smart man.

Not really that far off from some of the “destination” weddings I’ve been invited to.

My wedding was less than $500 including cake, gown, preacher and the pretty B&B.

I remember years ago one of my cousins was getting married, and my curmudgeonly sarcastic uncle said that he would pay for the ladder.

In her “invitation” she is asking for $1500 Canadian dollars. Later, one of her friends is saying she has never been out of the U.S.

Plus other mild discrepancies.

Fake.

Read the article and her post or letter to get the full horror of his situation.

He is beyond lucky.

Neither was anyone’s refusal of your request f***ing out of the ordinary, ma’am.

“Canada has snowflakes too! Who knew?”

She has probably never had to pay for anything herself and expects someone else to always pay for whatever she wants. Poor misguided “snowflake”.
