Don’t really see that as a “discrepancy” as the writer clearly was talking about South America. Lots of Canadians have been to the US and she clearly meant she’d never been further south than the US and doesn’t speak Spanish.

I had noticed about the discrepancy in the bride (supposedly) being Canadian and yet her cousin stating that the bride had never been out of the US.
That one detail proves that the story is an obvious fake.
