Columbus man's arms to be amputated after mauled by pit bulls ^ | August 17, 2018 | Tony Sloan

A Columbus man has to have his arms amputated after being attacked by three pit bulls.

Forty-two-year-old Dudley Willis says he was walking home from the store last week when he was mauled by three pit bulls belonging to one the neighbors on the corner of 38th Street and Earline Avenue.

“He was left laying here in this area, just left laying out here. Nobody called for help or nothing. He was just left laying out here,” says his sister Alycia Willis.

Alycia Willis says he was left there for an hour and twenty-five minutes before being taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.

“The hospital called us after he had a seven-hour surgery. He has been through six surgeries since Sunday,” says Alycia Willis.

She received another one of those phone calls during the interview with News Leader 9. The doctors told her that both of her brother’s arms will have to be amputated.

“It kind of scares me,” says neighbor Carson Layfield.

Neighbors say the dogs have been a common problem for close to a year now. Some of the kids in the neighborhood say they can’t even walk to their bus stop without fear.

“The dogs chased them up the street and they’re only 10 and 8 years old. They’re scared to death,” says area resident Josh Drysdale.

The family says animal control has taken the dogs and the owner has been arrested. Neighbors say there are other dogs belonging to that same owner that they say are just as dangerous.

“It’s been an ongoing situation. They chased my daughter. She is six years old. If that would have been her, if that would’ve been a child that’s going through what my brother is going through, they would not have survived,” says Alycia Willis.

The family of the victim says they will be taking legal action against the owner of the dogs. They say for now they’re just wishing their loved one a speedy recovery.

What a crappy feral-infected neighborhood. Everyone (including kids) should carry a baseball bat, a squirt-bottle of ammonia and a .32. The poor guy...I hope he survives. The degenerate owner of the worthless criminal dogs probably has no $$$ so filing suit against him will mainly get nothing. Pathetic.

Yes. This is from on the subject:

Maul Talk Manual
“ - In September 2010, Maul Talk Manual Version 1.0, A Guide to Understanding the Language of Pit Bull Owners and Advocates, was launched. The manual is now in Version 2.0 and holds nearly 200 terms about the U.S. pit bull mauling epidemic. City officials considering breed-specific legislation should browse the manual, as you will interface with these terms and distortion tactics employed by pit bull owners, advocates and animal groups also tracked by the website.

Version 2.0 brings the frontrunners of the pit bull disinformation campaign into sharper focus, which continues to be Ledy VanKavage — a lobbyist for Best Friends Animal Society and board member of Animal Farm Foundation — and the National Canine Research Council. The latter two companies are owned and operated by Jane Rotrosen Berkey.1 These two middle-aged women are the primary forces that “seed” and steer the weighty U.S. pit bull propaganda machine.

Along with VanKavage and Berkey et al., pumping out volumes of dangerous disinformation for their followers to disseminate across the Internet, they also target and exploit “real” animal lovers who readily believe the myth, “It’s all how you raise them.” They leverage this naïve advocacy base (often young adult females) to help spread their agenda. Unwittingly, these same activists escalate the number of pets and livestock slaughtered annually by pit bull animal aggression. . . .”

There is much more useful information at the link. It is also a very interesting read. Worth bookmarking, I think.

Vaquero, Are you trying to say that pit-bulls are just as wonderful as any other breed of dogs?

I am sorry that you have both lost limbs. The two of you would of course understand, at least partially, the enormity of this man’s loss more than most.

This is actually an enormous part of the problem of pit bull dogs.

When a victim is killed, the medical bills stop, and the caretaking bills stop, and there is an end. This I can not put politely. The financial drain stops.

When the victim lives, the bills go on and the pain in this world goes on, and the surgeries, and the healing, and the disablement, and the caretaking . . .

And almost always, the enabler, the dog’s owner, gets off scot-free, or with a ticket and a small fine.

Who is paying for this? Follow the money.

I am willing to bet these dogs were never properly trained as you would any other breed. people who leave their dogs in situations that makes them aggressive desire it as they want to scare off potential threats. I am seriously sorry for what happened to this man, and I pray for his recovery as much as is possible based on his injuries.

But I am not surprised at the poster, once again the gratuitous Norski and his I hate Pit Bulls thread and his followers who would gladly kill them all. Norski and his steaming hatred, you must be a barrel of fun at family gatherings

I could stay and fence with you about this crusade you are on and there are thousands of others who would flush this thread like a toilet with opposing views. There are bad dogs to be sure, but not across the board as a breed as you constantly posit. Even Police Departments are using Pit Bulls as service dogs, but you insist that your mission is to kill them all

And please, I don’t need to see your “statistics” or travel to your site and give you hits

Go ahead, roll around in your hatred and vitriol, it will take you down some day

Sad, very sad

And I would rescue a Pit Bull any day, each dog is different and I have been around many different breeds and never been attacked, all the way up to Cane Corso Mastiffs an many others

In my opinion it is the owner, not the dog virtually every time

Over time, the original term, Pit Nutter, has been shortened to simply Nutter. Like the original term, Nutter embodies the same meaning: “The hallmark trait of the pit nutter is their unwillingness to accept the genetic heritage of the pit bulldog (It’s all how you raise ‘em!) or their inability to see the death and destruction their pit bulldogs create as anything other than collateral damage that the rest of society must absorb so that the pit nutter can enjoy the freedom of owning a killing machine.”

In 2013, however, the term “Nutter” sharpened to distinguish the purveyors of untruthful pit bull myths. In a June new release, “It’s Time for the Pit Bull ‘Recall’ Too,” attorney Kenneth Phillips states the distinction, “Unfortunately, pit bull lovers have neglected the problem for too long. Worse, they have alienated the general public by failing to denounce the “nutters” who spread misinformation about the members of this breed, which generally are not “nanny dogs,” service dogs, or rescue dogs.”

Some Nutters are intelligent, some are not, while others are mindless drones, circulating false myths about the pit bull breed because they have been directed to (See: Best Friends Animal Society). The primary demographic of Nutters are Caucasian women. Frequently young women of the child-bearing years (18 to 30-years old) with a natural draw to “mother” or “rescue” just about anything, in this case stockpiles of unwanted pit bulls that continuously flood U.S. open admission shelters.

Terms sharing the Nutter base include: Stockholm Nutter, Super Nutter, Nikko Nutter, pre-Nutter and post-Nutter.

Good for you, so can I get you to come to Albuquerque and adopted the 200 to 250 pit and pit mixes to keep them out of the hands on well meaning amateurs and felonious criminals? And oh you will need to do this every couple of months? Also I am sure there are just as many up for adoption across America.

It's too bad he wasn't armed. If I had that kind of thoughtless neighbor harboring a pack of pitbulls I'd be armed at all times.

This is no time for puns and bad jokes.

(Just giving you a hard time for your word choice here.)

This really hurts to see going on and on, and so many victims disarmed by progressives and their propaganda.

Disarmed might’ve been a poor choice of words, considering.

Oop, excuse me, my familial paranormal curse is insisting I channel tens of thousands of pit bull apologists:

“Not MY fluffy foofoo snuggum uggams sweetie pie pit. Why, he’s SO good with the baby. It’s not ALL pits, you know. They are the canines of peace.”

Can I get a Gesundheit?

Q: Why do people say, “Pit bulls are dog-aggressive not human-aggressive?”

Due to selective breeding for the purposes of dogfighting, pit bulls are highly dog-aggressive. This aggression is not limited to dogs; pit bulls frequently kill other companion pets and domesticated animals. Leading pit bull education websites warn pit bull owners to, “Never trust your pit bull not to fight.” These same websites also state that pit bulls should never be left alone with another dog or animal.20 The practical and moral question is: Why is “pit bull dog aggression” tolerated at all?

Pit bull dog aggression is unacceptable for two reasons. In many instances it leads to human aggression. A common scenario is the following: A loose pit bull attacks a leashed dog being walked by its owner. The owner gets seriously injured trying to stop the attack. Every year, one or more Americans suffers death due to pit bull dog aggression, including pit bull rescuers like Rita Woodard and Mary Jo Hunt who died while attempting to break up a fight between their pit bulls.

Secondly, far too many beloved companion pets and domesticated animals suffer a violent death by the powerful jaws of pit bull terriers each year. In some instances, these attacks involve pit bulls charging through screen doors of private homes — in a home invasion attack — to kill the pet living inside.21 Owners of the pet are then forced to watch as their dog or cat is disemboweled by the pit bull and pray that the animal does not turn its attention on an innocent family member next.

I’m really surprised that the dogs left.

They usually don’t finish until they’re finished.

Hm. Elk is tasty.

I do not know about pit bull. (or any dog, for that matter)

Someone (a veteran) posted on an earlier thread about dog being tasty, and a pit bull advocate called him a cannibal.
