Democratic enthusiasm and a GOP malaise surrounding President Trump have set the stage for a potentially devastating midterm election for the House Republican majority.
In a series of special elections mostly in reliably GOP districts, Democratic candidates have routinely outperformed Hillary Clintons share of the vote from 2016.
At the same time, Republican candidates have underperformed President Trump's vote share in all but two special elections.
If that pattern holds in November, the worst-case scenario for the GOP is a truly historic wipeout of as many as 72 House seats, according to The Hills analysis of special election results and congressional and presidential returns from 2016...

Even if Romney took a break from hating everything American, he would still want the Republicans to lose 70 seats because it would be best for the Uni-Party and also it would increase the chance of an impeachment trial of Trump. An impeachment trial of the elected non-uniparty president would give Romney more wet dreams. Romeny cant contain his hate for America.
Worse-case scenario for the dems is that entire leadership and supporting cast are found by the court guilty of sedition and executed.
This takes Delusion to an entirely new dimension. Starting with just the first two clauses of the lead sentence, ha ha!!! What insane asylum was this article posted from?
the Hill of Crap again
Best case is loss of ten seats, sez this shill from The Hill. There will be some swaps (pickup of a D seat by an R, and vice versa), but overall a small gain in the house, and between six and eleven seats picked up R in the Senate, perhaps more if you count the RINOs who are retiring. Thanks EveningStar.
I respectfully disagree. First order of business is the election of the speaker. If the Dems have a slim majority (less than 5 seats), then the wrangling over the speaker will actually be the biggest issue in the House, not impeachment. After that is settled, the incoming speaker will be too wounded to take up impeachment.
In other words, impeachment will only happen if the Dems win a comfortable majority (more than 5). Impeachment will be a non-starter if they win the House by 1 or 2 seats (possible) because of the amount of horse trading that will be needed to keep everyone in line.
In short:
Dems win the House by 10+ seats (net gain 30+): Impeachment is certain and will be attempted
Dems win the House by 5-10 seats (net gain <30): Impeachment is possible and may be attempted
Dems win the House by fewer than 5 seats (net gain around 25): Impeachment is highly unlikely due to prevailing dynamics and will not be attempted
Blind leading the blind Democrats and RINOs are evidently in denial that patriots are not going to forget in the 2018 midterm elections that eight years of misguided Obama led the nation over a cliff.
Please everyone!
There is probably no pathway for the GOP to win!
There is a 98% chance they will lose the house!
Nate Silver said!
The sky is falling!!!

I'm guessing that it was all part of the Dem astroturfing the mid-term voter perception. And if Nate Silver is saying 75% or whatever chance for the Dems to take the House, his track record belies that. (excepting broken-clock, etc.)
At least 4 of those seats in PA are due to corrupt Democrat monkeying with our State Supreme Court.
Heh.....wrong again.
When the dust settles, Pelosi will still be speaker.
Next is the Tax Bill - like Clinton’s retroactive and huge.
Next the impeachment of DJT and Pense.
Next referral to Senate where Dems now have the majority as well.
Conviction put to vote, pass,. Removal put to vote, pass
Instant President Pelosi who picks Bernie as her Vice President.
The Russians should give Republicans wins in LA, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, NYC, DC and Philly.
For the past few months, I load up youtube on a station’s 2016 election night coverage and enjoy a pleasant time before I fall asleep reliving watching the map turn Trump red.My favorite line was when Carville got panicky because Ohio had turned red too soon. He thought it would be close. That that he threw in the towel.
Lot of variety out there, students from USC did a good job in their coverage. There is an election night coverage from a Christian viewpot ( studio right in church), I saw Ben Shapiro melt down, and Glenn Beck binge eat as the results came out, then there were this foul mouth big guy on a Young Turk broadcast.
What I though was unusual, CNN was basically Wolf Blitzer and his analyst standing by their electronic map for hours straight bringing to light how districts voted before and how they were voting now. Except for Anna Navarro blowing up on her hate for Trump, most libs kept their bile to a simmer. Mostly, they were in denial and trying to keep their depression from showing.
It won’t be a 70 seat flip... but they only need 24 to take the house, and with the GOP seeming to think simply running campaigns that simply say the other guy is a pelosi clone, and that’s about it, pandering to their core and ignoring the non traditional voters that gave Trump the white house, particularly in the upper midwest... odds are the Dems will most likely get enough.
The GOP has terrible messaging and is almost certainly going to lose a lot of purple and pink districts, particularly in the upper midwest...
They think they can win by simply pandering to their core base, ignoring the fact that it was Non Traditional MAGA voters who gave them these states, not core voters... and those voters are not going to show up for campaigns that simply say... this person is like Pelosi....
Unless the GOP wakes up big time, the ONLY shot at holding the house is the Dems overplaying their hand and acting so crazy that it motivates those non traditional voters show up in spite of the GOP’s ineptitude.
God offers, it is up to us to respond. Free will.
If we do not respond, we deserve what we get.
Other than the tax cut and the increase in the Defense budget, we really havent gotten ANYTHING from the House - we cant even get a Homeland Security bill that tries to secure the border.
The RATs constantly say the GOP cant govern yada, yada, yada.
Let the RATs have the House with a one vote majority; Trump will be mocking them everyday for getting nothing done.
Besides, the Senate is where the action is for the next two years, more judges.
LOL, "foul mouth big guy" is probably THIS guy? (Cenk Uygur)
He had Diamond and Silk on in this interview, and he was so condescending to them, but there were times he looked like someone who had grabbed a tiger by the tail and had no idea how to let go! Especially when he talked about the racist Republican "Southern Strategy", and they lit into him about which party started the KKK (The Democrats)...it was pretty funny. What a patronizing turd Cenk Uygur is.
Thank you. It will be must watch TV.
