More than one million pilgrims have already arrived in Saudi Arabia, days before the kingdom prepares to host its mammoth annual Hajj pilgrimage, according to state media.
The Hajj, which is expected to draw more than two million pilgrims this year, represents a key rite of passage for Muslims and a massive logistical challenge for Saudi authorities as these stunning images show.

Target-rich environment.
Yikes. Can you imagine the aroma of that place?
The over/under on death by stampede this year — 600.
One stinky place. Just imagine their body odor?
They apparently can erect a large tent city with air-conditioning and bathroom facilities to accommodate pilgrims. With all that land and money they have, they should be setting up large tent cities to handle all those displaced “refugees”.
I’ve visited Rome and i someday wish to visit Jerusalem and Mecca.Saudi Arabia,it’s written,is getting ready to issue tourist visas for the first time.
But it would be counter-productive to house all the refugees. Then the refugees wouldn’t have to invade Europe in order to take over the west.
I’ve always wondered how they get them to stand in perfect circles around the Ka’aba. Are there marks on the ground or something?
Screwy muslims

Who has the porta potty concession?
Unless you are a Muslim you are not allowed in the Mecca city limits.
Do we have some A-10s and AC 130s in the area?
You cannot visit Mecca unless you are a Muslim...............
Yup,I'm aware of that. What I'd do to prepare is to go to some mosque far from where I live and say I want to become a moslem.I'd also tell a few other lies. Then,I'd get a letter from the "imam" saying that I've converted.
If I'm challenged at any point while in Saudi I'll say that I'm a new convert.
I know I could get into serious trouble but I'm willing to take the risk
And BTW...if I succeed in entering the city I'd stay no more than an hour...and probably less.
Near Mecca and Medina there are highways called the Christian bypass for non Muslims. In some areas if you go off the road you’re in deep sh!t. The real kind.
Time for another round of mass trampling death. Worse than a free stuff giveaway in Detroit.
Can we start a pool on how many will die this year?
Will the deaths be from:
1) Terrorism or mass violence
(1987 - at least 400 killed)
2) Stampede for non-terrorism related reasons
(2006 - killed at least 346 pilgrims and injured at least 289 more; 2015 in Mina at least 2,411 pilgrims were killed).
3) Other

Which makes me scratch my head that Brennan has been there, IIRC.
