So, the continuation of my business training trip is sending me to Phoenix Arizona for a week. My road trips include Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Phoenix Natural History museum.
Does anybody (espically rock hounds/astronomy nuts) have any suggestions for science/space attractions? I will be there during peak viewing for the Perseid Meteor shower and would love to do some meteor watching or visit an observatory.

You appear to have a good list. Maybe add Spirit of the West Museum in Scottsdale and the Stockyards Steakhouse.
As you are driving back from meteor crater you can take a little detour and see Walnut Canyon. It is just east of Flagstaff. It has Indian houses built into the sides of a canyon. Its about a 1 hour side trip going to or from Meteor Crater
When are you going to be there? There are lots of things to do October to May that I would not recommend in June - September because of the heat.
Luepold makes some nice ones. You don’t even have to visit Phoenix.
Closer in, the Desert Botanical Garden, the Musical Instrument Museum, Old Town Scottsdale, and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve are all close enough to enjoy in a few hours. Spend your free time in and around the Scottsdale area and you won't regret it. It's hot now - but that keeps the crowds down. :)
Downtown Phoenix, however, offers nothing particularly interesting. The liberal city government - post-Joe Arpaio - is working hard to turn it into just another California city, complete with abundant homelessness and gang activity and plenty of opportunities for Democrat activists to get themselves on the city payroll to "solve" the problems their political masters are busy creating.
Most people come here to play golf - if you are so inclined there are dozens of great courses.
Desert Botanical Garden. Just cactus, but very interesting.
Yes, Jerome is well worth seeing, and take the scenic Rt. 89a through Oak Creek Canyon on your way back to Phoenix. If Canyon de Chelly is too out of your way, check out Montezuma’s Castle for Indian cliff dwellings. If you find yourself near Navajo county, there is usually a Navajo rodeo somewhere both Friday and Saturday nights. They are not well advertised though. Finally, we really enjoyed a tour of Tombstone. It was not at all the tourist trap we expected.

shhh Sedona is just amazing but the tourists have discovered it. On weekends it is overrun by Rats from CA. They recently began allowing short term rentals it really changed place and not for the better.

I was in Phoenix in 2011 on business. My wife and I drove to Sedona and stayed over. Then we drove to the Grand Canyon from Sedona. I had never been to any of those places, and did not know when I’d ever be in Arizona again; so I did a little driving while I was there.
Forget all those tourist traps. All you need are head coverings, drinking water, and a magnigying glass. There’s sand - lots of sand - and no two grains are alike! When you examine under a magnifying glass, it’s like entering a new world! Or better yet, try a low power microscope!
My dad was a rock hound. He spent a lot of time east of Apache Junction past Weavers Needle... Tortia Flat?

Lots to see here but AZ is really big.
I’d do Sedona, Petrified Forest and Meteor Crater (except you really can’t walk around much as you might want at the Crater)
They are somewhat close and you can stay overnite in Sedona.
