Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap. Representatives for Bautista also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Disney fired Gunn in July after offensive old tweets were resurfaced as part of a campaign against Gunn spearheaded by right wing media personality Mike Cernovich. Gunn, who previously apologized for those tweets in 2012, wrote in a statement that he understood and accepted Disney's decision.
Bautista, who plays Drax in the "Guardians" movies and "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers 4," has been one of Gunn's most outspoken defenders, calling the effort that got him fired a "cyber nazi attack that succeeded." Most recently, he tweeted Sunday that it was "pretty nauseating" working for Disney after it empowered "a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis."

One thing they messed up in Guardians was the Drax character. I actually prefer he not return. Probably too late for the real Drax the Destroyer.
Where was Jim Starlin when you needed him?
Maybe Jose can replace Dave; we know that Jose can produce a hit.
Sounds like he read the recent Slate article, whose authoress claimed that people on the right outing and shaming pedophiles, et al. are horrible.
Sounds like Hollywood is getting so political 89% of movie-goers are going to stop buying tickets.
Someone ought to post that “Well, Bye” gif.
I wish these actors would keep their mouths shut. Because of all of this I cant support the franchise anymore. They lost my familys money.
What’s a Guardians of the Galaxy and who is this Batista ?
So what exactly was said by both individuals?
Hollyweird = sick puppies.
I have only seen the first GOTG movie. I have a digital copy of the second; haven’t gotten around to watching it. I thought the first one was okay, but way over rated. I don’t care what Disney or Bautista do. I’ve pretty much had it with superhero movies anyway.
Ok bye
Be careful, Bautista, very few actors are truly indispensable. Especially with CGI being a major part of the production.
Well, they did (SPOILERS) kill off all of the Guardians except one in the last Avengers movie, so it really wouldn’t be hard to write any of them out of the next film...

There are TONs of natural mimics that could replace him in a heartbeat. And as a secondary character, he doesn’t have the Marquee draw.
Let him commit career suicide - no one will notice the slight bump when he is run over.
AMF!
“Because of all of this I cant support the franchise anymore.”
Same here. I still can’t believe there is a new Star Wars movie out there and I haven’t seen it yet :-). Between giving up movies and not caring about sports (I haven’t cared about the NFL since 2009 and MLB is kind of background radio noise for me these days), I’ve saved a ton of money and have found that life is a lot more interesting :-) (ok, an exaggeration there, but I think you get my point :-) ).
Seriously, canceling cable & not seeing movies in the theater makes a dent in the liberal’s pocketbook ... it’ll be significant as more people wake up and stop wasting money on people that hate them for their views.
I agree 100%. I loved Starlin’s Drax.
Boomp, Boomp, Boomp,
Another one Under the Bus!

Digital copy? Do you mean bootleg?
Go ahead. We’ve had two Beasts and three Spidermen. How many actors have played Frankenstein’s monster?
