Ben Barker had already been in South America for three months when he decided not to return to his job at a Fort Collins, Colorado coffee shop.
The 29-year-old had practiced energy healing with a shaman in Guatemala and earned a certificate in sustainable agricultural development, but he wasn't done exploring and work could wait.

It’s easy to take a pay cut and travel the world when you’re living with Mommy and/or Daddy
Okay, and you are paying for this travel, how?
Easy - the government will take money from those working and give it to them.
Bernienomics.
With that and the job at the coffee shop, its all becoming clear.....
The parental bank is a great resource.
Working persons like me do well just to day trip a few hours away.
Yes, but to work at a Fort Collins, Colorado coffee shop?
Who would give that up? That’s crazy man!

And 80% of them believe that they deserve a UBI check from the government every month to cover basic needs.
These children in adult bodies need a lesson in Socialism: once it is enacted, the freebies end and your services will be required on the collective farm or in the tractor factory. Traveling the world is not an option unless it is to fight in the army to subjugate a free people to your ideology.
Lets see.... I would be willing to take an 8000 a year pay cut to have the freedom to travel the world while consuming 200k per year doing so...sure....me too.
Isn’t that nice...and how would you pay for it? Really, really, really believe that you’d get it for free?
"...pay cut to be able to travel the world..."
“earned a certificate in sustainable agricultural development,”

“Sustainable” is the new buzzword for the young people.
.
“Ben Barker had already been in South America for three months when he decided not to return to his job at a Fort Collins, Colorado coffee shop.”
“He’s emblematic of a trend of Millennials putting off career dreams to chase down life experience in other countries”
These are the folks that will be tying to use Socialism down our throats.
Taking the title of the article at face value, I think it’s a great idea.
I’ve seen a number of similar stories recently. I think I finally understand the motivation for this sort of “news”.
Clearly, some millennials are enjoying life while living off Mommy and Daddy.
Other millennials are pouring coffee for a living while wondering how they will pay off their staggering student loans.
“News” stories like this one are meant to inspire jealousy in young people. If only Bernie Sanders were in charge! Bernie would pay off my staggering student loans! Then I, too, could travel the world and stay in South Africa for three months!
Socialism! Socialism will allow us all to live a care-free existence and travel the world! Why are only a few people allowed to do this? It should be an option for us all!
