“Sustainable” is the new buzzword for the young people.

Analyzed dispassionately, it is a worthy pursuit. Unsustainable things must eventually end, and be replaced by other things, not all of which are all that desirable. The problem is that the left has co-opted and twisted it to justify their Marxist tendencies.

“Sustainable” is the new buzzword for the young people

I was once lectured by a "learned scholar" who toured Africa. While he was there, he discovered that farmers who regularly moved crops and/or herds from field to field improved yield (sure!), increased "sustainability" (ok...) while decreasing their carbon footprint (debatable). He had it all figured out, how we could end global warming by changing all the farmland in Africa to his all new system, or something.

Sez me, "So you "discovered" crop rotation, a process that's been used since the Egyptians figured it out 5000 years or so ago? Are you on a Gov't grant, or did some college fund your junket?"

That was the end of the conversation. Fine by me, he was kind of a blowhard, really impressed with himself.
