CHICAGO (CBS) — A 57-year-old woman is killed after being attacked by a pit bull on Chicago’s far South Side.
It happened near 101st and South Calhoun around noon Saturday.
Police said when officers arrived at the scene, the dog charged at them. Both officers fired their guns killing the dog.
The victim was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The dog bit her throughout her body, including her neck.
Police are still investigating. It’s unclear where the dog’s owner was.

According to a family member, there will be a vigil at the scene of the incident Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
No, I Live in a rural area. Several rental properties around that draw folks that often have had dogs running loose in the past. There is also a couple of illegal alien depots close and one has big dogs running loose all the time including a pit bull that I briefly met a while ago.

Great. I grew up the suburbs, and I learned about scary dogs from a golden retriever that lived down the block and would chase me from his long driveway as i rode by on my bike. I don’t know what he would have done, if he ever caught me, but I peddled like a crazy man every time I went by and he chased me almost to my house.
I’ve seen quite a few of Norski’s posts and comments, and those were impeccable. Show me one that isn’t. Try focusing on any of Norski’s arguments this time instead of the individual.
“Thing” doesn’t mean anything, and neither does “chet99.” Both are fallacies. Show me a bad comment, and argue against that instead.
It isn’t that important. Just making an observation. This is obviously very important to you, so I will leave you to it. Good luck with all that.

CHICAGO — A 57-year-old woman beloved by her community was on her way to help a woman who lived down the street Saturday when she was attacked and mauled to death by a dog, neighbors say.
Friends say Karen Brown was afraid of dogs and often hopped over fences to avoid a pit bull known as a problem in the neighborhood before it attacked her Saturday around 12:25 p.m. on the 10100 block of South Calhoun Avenue.
“I miss her already, she was a loving caring person,” neighbor Thelma Brown said. “Everyone called her ‘Punchie’ around here,”

According to neighbors, the pit bull was kept in an unfenced backyard by owners who kept many neglected dogs in crates, and they suspected the owners were involved with dog fighting. One neighbor said she avoided watering her flowers for fear of being attacked.
“Pitbulls they get a reputation. I’ve had pitbulls. They’re the most loving dogs in the world. It’s all about the owner,” neighbor Tim Riley said.
Chicago police say the dog bit Brown on her neck and her body, and officers arriving on the scene shot and killed the dog when it lunged at them. Brown was rushed to University of Chicago Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
At a vigil held in her honor Sunday evening, more than 100 people came out, including family, friends, former postal workers and even past neighbors who used to live in the neighborhood.
“Obviously, by the crowd that’s standing out here I think she was truly loved by the community,” her brother Keith Brown said.
Police say they are still trying to locate the owner of the dog. Neighbors say they realize this was an accident, but they want the dog’s owners to turn themselves in and take some responsibility.”

The problem lies in the core teachings of Mohammadenism itself, yadent, in my opinion.
The core teachings of Islam in the Qur’an, Hadiths and Sirah are very violent.
The only Muslim sects of today that are not violent are:
1. Ismailis - basically the Aga Khan has reinterpreted everything in the Qur’an and changed it all
2. Ahmaddiyyas - they’re peaceful as they are a tiny minority and are considered heretics by other Muslims
3. Bohris - I think a combinated of #1 and #2
