CHICAGO (CBS) — A 57-year-old woman is killed after being attacked by a pit bull on Chicago’s far South Side.
It happened near 101st and South Calhoun around noon Saturday.
Police said when officers arrived at the scene, the dog charged at them. Both officers fired their guns killing the dog.
The victim was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The dog bit her throughout her body, including her neck.
Police are still investigating. It’s unclear where the dog’s owner was.
CBS 2 has confirmed the woman’s name is Karen Brown. Her nickname was “Punchie.” pw South Side Woman Killed By Pit Bull

According to a family member, there will be a vigil at the scene of the incident Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Despite their tenacity and determination in battle, commoners actually bred pit bull terriers with some of the same qualities and traits that we still love about them to this day. Through selective breeding and culling, bite inhibition towards humans was greatly encouraged. Gamblers had to be sure that they could enter a pit and handle their dogs in close proximity without the danger of being bit themselves. If a dog bit a human, it was usually culled.
And those are pretty mild.
I’ve seen ones with the kids face literally ripped off. All you could see was bones and blood.

Once again you dog-haters are missing the BIG POINT. It's not about any particular dog attack. It's about the owners and how they treat and care for their dogs.

In my neighborhood there are two types I see with puit bulls: diminutive Bros who use the vicious dog as a substitute for a Johnson they are proud of but don’t have, and man hating lesbians who are no doubt acting out their anger at their miserable place in life. Which is the Boomer?
