BRANSON, Mo. - First responders across southwest Missouri were called to the scene of a reported "mass casualty incident" at Table Rock Lake on Thursday after several people were thrown into the water.
That's the report I heard. 80+ mph winds verses a DUKW boat, not going to be pretty.
Yes. I was working at Chateau on the Lake Resort within a couple of miles of this when it happened. The wind was incredible.
Hate to hear about this. God Bless the families.
KY3 TV
Stone County sheriff reports 8 dead, 7 injured after duck boat capsizes.
31 on board per KTTS radio news. Headline reports 10 dead.
Months back saw one here on the Big island leeward, did see it launch, but not many people on board. Looked like it had been all painted getting ready for business. Never seen it out in the ocean past the harbor.
After this, likely will never see one do more than enter the water and then get right back out.
Two duck boats appear to have been bow on into the seas. One appears to be holding position, and the other appears to have attempted a run to shore. The one made some headway initially, then succumbed to taking on water over the bow. Last frames of the video show wave tops even with the side of the vessel’s passenger compartment.
Another duck boat sinks?
11 dead and 5 missing.
Now 13 dead, Sheriff does not know how many missing. http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Emergency-crews-work-incident-involving-amphibious-boat-on-Table-Rock-Lake-488679201.html

Tragedy...up to 13 now dead. They usually have teens or young adults driving those ducks. They probably didn’t have the common sense to NOT drive out into the lake during a bad storm. The company should have been monitoring the weather and adjusting their schedule. That was their job.
Very sad news.
Somebody’s gonna get sued.
This one had not just the shade awning, but side curtains.
RIP.
They were for the “comfort” of the passengers because of the temperatures and were ruled mostly to blame for the Hot Springs fiasco. I can’t believe they don’t learn from these disasters. They sink slow enough for people with life vests can get away from the boat IF they are not ensnared in netting.
Watching the video, and how it was riding lower and lower indicates the bilge pump wasn’t working. Combine that with white caps that lap over the boat and you’re doomed.
