New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says he'll sue if the Supreme Court rolls back Roe v. Wade.
Gov. Cuomo has been calling on lawmakers to increase protections in New York.
"We never passed the New York State law because we relied on Roe v. Wade and everyone assumed it would always be there," Gov. Cuomo said.
During the 2016 election, Donald Trump regularly stated that he would only appoint judges to the Supreme Court that would overturn the ruling.
They could pass their own law in their state constitution and never worry about it again, but they have repeatedly chose not to. They want it to forever remain an electoral and fund-raising issue. Transparent.
We should cease comparing Andrew Cuomo to Fredo, because Fredo is damned near a Mensa member by comparison to Andrew Cuomo.

But New York doesn’t want to pay for the abortions in their state, they want the whole country to contribute.
You know it, I know it, he knows it … the end game is that he knows fed funding for abortions would dry up if RvW overturned, and THAT is what is unacceptable. Furthermore, he also knows that as much as passing a state law would be a slam dunk, that it would also make it an issue in elections, which could cost the donkeys seats at the state level, so he does not WANT to have to pass a law.
Oh, it makes perfect sense. Sue in federal court and it goes all the way up to the Supremes, who have the final word on it. Again.
Actually, IIRC, in New York state, the "Supreme Court" is the lowest level court... then you appeal to the "Appellate Division"... then the top court is called the "Court of Appeals".

In other news, Gov. Cuomo was reportedly in talks with his Attorney General and his agency heads to determine when to file a lawsuit against either (or all of) ‘God’ or ‘the Halliburton weather machine’ or ‘the Jews’ in order to stop global climate change.

Just like Social Security, private pensions, manufacturing careers, “if you like your doctor...”, bump stocks, leaded gas, being able to do what you like with land that you own, public schools that taught American values, movies that told a story instead of preaching Political Correctness, etc.
Things change.
So pass a law.
