The startling finding means that experts may not be able to spot the massive space rock hidden in the annual Taurids meteor shower until it is too late.
According to a group of researchers, one of the fragments could hit Earth in 2022, 2025, 2032 or 2039 during the annual meteor shower.
The Taurids is a spectacular meteor shower that lights up the night skies every November.
The meteor shower is the trail of debris left by the comet Encke.
But the debris could be obscuring two asteroid chunks known as 2015 TX24 and 2005 UR that are potentially Earth-bound.
Earth's orbit passes through the region in space every few years, and experts from the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Science believe that we are drawing closer to it, and that there may be more unknown chunks that experts have not recognised yet...
The asteroids that are known to the researchers are between 200 and 300 metres wide.
To put that into perspective, in 2013 a 20 metre meteor exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia, which smashed windows and caused injuries to more than 1,000 people.
If the asteroid chunks are at least 10 times that size, the damage could be catastrophic.

I clicked your complex search link.
What say you regarding the various articles about paleolithic extinctions and such?
WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!
I’m guessing that these would be too small to land a couple of space shuttles on and then have some offshore drillers place a nuclear weapon on them and explode them before they hit earth - right?
Foolish is he who frets at night,
And lies awake to worry’
A weary man when morning comes,
He finds all as bad as before.
The Havamal, Stanza 23
Too late to do what? Launch a space shuttle with a nuke to detonate on it?
We need a Kenyan coke head twink president that’s going to do something about this right now!
...or at least a pedophile philanderer who enjoys cigars?
/S
Can we be sure this is an accurate translation from the Icelandic?
Just kidding. Thanks for teaching me something new—a common occurrence on FR. I never heard of this before looking it up.
Is the Havamal like our Proverbs? Many civilizations had “wisdom books” which were collections of advice and wise admonitions to be taught to young people coming of age.
Although our Holy Scriptures Proverbs are divinely inspired through Solomon or a school of writers working to preserve his wisdom under his name, they include advice to all ages, not just adolescents.
I ruin my life worrying and always have. A shame.
Yep, life is fatal. Prepare for eternity.
Quick question for those who keep up with these things.
Are the nations living in the Taurids meteor shower Reptilians, Greys, or Humanoids?
“Dad gave me this. Fifth birthday. He said, ‘Childhood’s over the moment you know you’re gonna die.’” - Top Dollar, The Crow.
Always was one of my favorite quotes.
Doom and Gloom....let it be as it will, kkthx.
Unadulterated, sensational, tabloid click-bait.
An expert on a news story I heard said it would take a warning period of months, not hours or a day, to stop a deadly asteroid strike.
Congress many times dragged its feet on this (and also strengthening the shielding of the power grid) and has left us helpless. The impact would cool off the world and kill us slowly and set off riots for food, water and medical care.
Someday within the next 20 years, scientists say, the likelihood of a major disastrous strike against the Earth is 100% for practical mathematical purposes. Like, will the northeast US have a major freeze and heavy snow in the next year—yes.
We have no practical system worked out but it could entail bumping the object to move it off course or landing on it to propel it somewhere. Blowing it up would set off big fragments hitting somewhere.
Most of the book is a series of quotes, supposedly advice from Odin for a traveler through the world. Basically Norse proverbs handed down orally for generations before they were finally written down in Iceland.
Comet Encke crosses paths with Earth every 3.3 years, last through in 2016 I think, next trip witl be summer 2019 I think. Huh, that info’s not turning up in my search. Anyway, I plan to mine those search hits in the upcoming months. :^)
