MSNBC Guest Declares We Must Start ‘Civil War’ If Trump Chooses Conservative SCOTUS

Ever since Maxine Waters encouraged her supporters to publicly harass Trump supporters, liberals have denounced civility and things just keep getting worse. Now, Washington Post columnist and MSNBC Contributor Jennifer Rubin announced that if Trump gets his way with the supreme court, it is time for civil war.

“The people who brought Donald Trump and delivered him to the White House want this [the overturn of Roe], and I think they will not be disappointed. So then the question is, if they’re not able to withstand this onslaught, not able to hold back a justice that would reverse Roe, what happens? In essence, we go to 50 civil wars in each of the states, plus the District of Columbia,” she said.

“And here is where I think the Republicans have badly overplayed their hand. There is no, and I mean no significant constituency for doing what they want to do, which is criminalizing abortion and punishing women and/or doctors. Poll after poll, 67%, 69%, 70% of people want to keep Roe. And what that means is, they want to keep a constitutional protection,” said Rubin.

“If that then goes back to the state legislatures, you’re going to see an uproar. And I think if we haven’t already seen women mobilize through the #MeToo movement, through the election of Donald Trump, through the separation of children, you are going to see even more women in the streets, on the ballot, and voting to throw people out who do not recognize women’s personal autonomy,” said Rubin.

Jennifer, how many DC liberals have their guns ready to go? Or is this going to be a knife war? Or fisticuffs? Or are you going to steal MAGA hats and throw drinks in peoples' faces? Will the 'Battle of Whataburger' be the turning of the tide? Or will it be a war of words? If so, it's been going on for years. Are you ready to see hundreds of thousands of people die because you don't like PDJT's SC choice? Will you be the ugly mug that launches hundreds of thousand bullets? What kind of civil war do you want? Let us know when you figure it out. In the mean time, shut up about civil wars.

These people are SO stupid that they don’t realize that in many states, it will still be legal, anyway.
Even if you’re in a state where murder and dismemberment without anesthesia is illegal, they can just take a bus ride to have the sordid deed done. Shame, shame.

Well, Miss Ruben, your fire the first shot and watch what happens.

Their side CAN'T fire the first shot -- they're anti Second Amendment, remember?

I’m game. We conservatives have all the guns. Or at least we can get them to replace the ones lost in the last boating accident.

At least she's not described as "conservative" as she usually is by the lying partisan media shills. Thanks ATOMIC_PUNK.

Having watched the full video I can factually state two things:

1. Jennifer Ruben is a dipstick. Calling her a "conservative commentator" during her introduction is also completely disingenuous.

2. She's not calling for a civil war at all. She uses the term to describe the fifty state by state legislative battles that will surely ensue if/when Roe v. Wade is overturned.

Now let's address point #2. My own opinion is Roe v. Wade was nothing less than the USSC creating a "right" out of thin air through a complete usurpation of States Rights. The Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution is very specific and deliberate in saying: "Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled."

Clearly the United States Supreme Court violated the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution and this wrong needs to be undone. Roe v. Wade is indeed the battleground and I'll tell you point blank it's going to be the first of several.

This is why I've said from the beginning of the debate over who the next USSC Justice is, they need to be a STRICT CONSTRUCTIONIST and ORIGINALIST in the mold of Justices Scalia and Thomas.

The Constitution of the United States is not a living, breathing document. It is a LEGAL Document and binding contract upon which our Founding Fathers built the foundations of this country.

That it is a legal document and binding contract is undoubtedly the intent of our Founding Fathers because they also gave us a process by which to change it. It's a long, arduous process requiring an overwhelming majority of states to change for a very specific reason: Our Founders knew fickle will of the people was no way to run a country. Structured, well thought through debate and consensus were really the only way to do it.

Roe v. Wade was nothing short of a slap in the face by the USSC to our Founding Fathers and a complete usurpation of States Rights and the proper role of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of our government.

In short, the USSC via Roe v. Wade became judge, jury and executioner over the most innocent among us - the unborn.

(Someone needs to make that last sentence go viral - it's true, short, sweet and to the point. Damn I wish it didn't take me so many words to get there.)

Laz, ping to my post above.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the last sentence: "In short, the USSC via Roe v. Wade became judge, jury and executioner over the most innocent among us - the unborn."

I think that's a completely factual, succinct assessment of Roe v. Wade. What say you?

“The people who brought Donald Trump and delivered him to the White House want this [the overturn of Roe], and I think they will not be disappointed.”

B*tch nobody delivered Trump to the White House. He waded though the attacks of republicans and democRATS abd KICKED THE DOOR DOWN.

I find it interesting that people worried about a civil war over abortion did not worry about launching a COUP to oust a duly elected PRESIDENT over “collusion”. An imaginary crime of which there is no evidence. Furthermore they are also inciting people to ATTACK members of the administration and their supporters, which has already resulted in the attemped assasination of Republican legislators. If they don’t want a civil war they sure have a funny way of showing it.

What about the poll that says over 50% of all Americans want abortion made illegal in all or almost all cases?

Both polls cannot be correct..........

And anyone with half a brain knows Roe vs. Wade is horrible use (abuse) of jurisprudence, terrible law in itself. If leftists were honest, they’d want a ruling that could stand on solid legal ground. They know that cannot ever happen, so they make Roe v. Wade untouchable.......
