Washington Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal is among the more than 500 protesters who were arrested inside a Capitol office building on Thursday while demonstrating against President Trump’s immigration policies.

The protest, which included hundreds demonstrators, took place in the Hart Senate Office Building. The protesters were calling for the abolishment of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, and were heard chanting “abolish ICE." Most of the protesters were female.

Eva Malecki, a spokeswoman for the United States Capitol Police, said 575 individuals were charged with unlawfully demonstrating in the atrium of the building.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal
@RepJayapal

“I was just arrested with 500+ women and @WomensMarch to
say @RealDonaldTrump’s cruel zero-tolerance policy will not
continue. Not in our country. Not in our name. June 30 we’re
putting ourselves in the street again...”

When did she find the time. I saw her on today’s congressional committee thing. And like every other dem, she was way off topic, going on about the Prison that these poor immigrants are being held in

My copy of her tweet didn’t quite work. The last line of her tweet said, ““June 30 we’re putting ourselves in the street again.” So they are ginning up the riots.

I think there's something seriously wrong with us... How do we end up electing somebody like this..?

We got a death wish or what.!!?

A great many of half of American voters voted for the Fraud simply because of the color of his skin, and then self-righteously called anyone who didn’t vote for him “racist”....

Hey! That was racist! However, as an Indian conservative raised in the west it was pretty funny too :-)

If Congresspersons don’t like our immigration law, why don’t they CHANGE THE LAW?

She was one nasty bitch in the hearing today. And ugly, too. Ranting about Trump separating “the children” from families, totally ignoring the fact that Obama did it, too — and worse. (She knows the truth, but how could they live if they couldn’t lie?)

Spent today in The Swamp due to missed train. Visited offices of both my senators, toured the Capitol Building complements of a Senator, then visited the Supreme Court for a brief presentation in the courtroom.

While in the courtroom I realized my cell phone was missing. Spent the next 3 hours hunting it down. When I got back to the Hart Building for the second time it was flooded with these protesters.

I could not get in. Hoofed it to the Russell Building and back tracked. Found the phone, which I had inadvertently left on a bench outside Senator Grassley’s office ( not my Senator, but worth complimenting for his service).

Long day, made longer by these protestors.

If they did this in Mexico, they would be bussed to mass graves. Hey, that actually happened to a protesting group of students. Whole bus load.
