PHOENIX - Arizona Sen. John McCain weighed in Monday on the Trump administration's zero-tolerance policy for undocumented immigrants crossing the border.

The Republican senator tweeted Monday afternoon, saying the administration should put an end to the policy.

"The administration’s current family separation policy is an affront to the decency of the American people, and contrary to principles and values upon which our nation was founded," McCain tweeted. "The administration has the power to rescind this policy. It should do so now."

Trump didn't start the policy. He did make it more visible.

But one has to look at the difference how these kids are being taken care of and how they were taken care of under Obama.

John McCain is the last person on earth to lecture anyone about decency.

Here he steps up to the rake and gets bonged again.

I’ve had enough of his rage against our country.

McCain wants 100% tolerance for illegal invaders. He and his ilk HATE ordinary Americans.

Perhaps the cancerous tumor has eaten away the part of McQueeg's brain, wherein lay the factual, historical knowledge of CASTLE GARDEN, ELLIS ISLAND, and all of the more modern laws re LEGAL immigration, as well as how ILLEGAL ones have always been treated.

Maybe his wife or daughter wrote it. ;^)

McCain would you please just give up the ghost already?

Spare the rest of us the agony of your continued existence.

If he can make all of these sideline statements, he can go to work.

I do NOT believe he has brain cancer.

I’d be willing to bet that McCain, back when he wasn’t semi-comatose and under hospice care, actually voted for the Bush era law the current policy is based upon. Any takers?

When was the last time someone other than his family or aides saw him alive? How do we know he’s making these statements? I’m sure Meghan, Cindy and his staff know how to sound like him in a Tweet.

Illegal aliens aren’t undocumented immigrants. They’re trespassing interlopers.

One of our greatest founding principles was the rule of law. Don’t break the law or lose your freedom and lose access to your kids!! Get these kids back to Mexico!! We don’t want them!! They are costing us 35k a year!! Out!!

Someone should let McCain know we spend more to take care of illegal alien kids than we do of our poorest children.

The American taxpayer spends $35,000 per child and its a growing burden.

McCain doesn’t seem concerned about the abuse of the American taxpayer or how illegal aliens game the system never mind putting their kids in peril by breaking our laws coming here.

Because to hear McCain tell it, we’re not compassionate enough and we’re cruel to illegals and their kids.

We should just waive our rules and let anyone crossing our borders stay here no questions asked.

This entire debate about kids being separated from their parents is phony and doesn’t deal with the real issue: people are entering our country in violation of its laws.

If we’are forced to make an exception for illegal family units, sooner than later we’ll have to make an exception for everyone else.

In that car, why even have borders in the first place? Americans are compassionate but America wasn’t founded to solve the rest of the world’s problems.

President Trump’s critics don’t get it.

Yes...we need to see the list of those who voted for this policy. Then we can really have some fun.

The current immigration law regarding illegal immigrants was signed in 1996 by Bill Clinton...while McLame was a US Senator and he probably voted for it too. Why is he complaining now?
