Irrespective of who makes this statement, McCain or anyone else, why is it against ‘the principles America was founded on’ to secure our borders? I would like them to explain their point.
If we closed ourselves off to the world and ignored all the suffering going on around us, that would be contrary to what I believe our principles are, and to Christianity. That said, securing our borders and reaching out to help those in need outside our borders are not mutually exclusive. Securing our borders and letting in those with legitimate claims for seeking political asylum are also not mutually exclusive.
Further, what exactly is the difference between ‘strict’ border control and the type of border control that those against it would support? Can they explain that?
Of course he didn’t have a problem with it as long as his buddy Obama was doing it.
