Congress can change the laws if it wants to but it won’t.
This fake outrage is a diversion from the fact our immigration system is broken and this by design.
I don’t hear McCain and the rest of the Open Borders crowd offering a solution to fix it.
They should just STFU.

If Mccain knew his history, he’d know how strict they were for anyone coming to America in ships back when our country was being settled.
They had to have a sponsor, a job waiting for them, a place to stay, a trade, their name was recorded and they had to become citizens in an amount of time.. and no voting for so many years. They could not come sick either.

Then in 1997 the USSC handed down the Flores Consent Decree. As I understand, it keeps ICE from holding minors for more then 20 days, so they are put under the custody of HHS.
This has been the policy for the last twenty ears. Even if congress changes the law, it won't change the Flores ruling.
