MIT Creates World's First Psychopath AI, Fed With Gruesome Reddit Content

As artificial intelligence is rapidly gaining ground, MIT researchers have created what they call "the world's first psychopath AI," giving it darker views on things by feeding it gruesome content from Reddit.

Aptly named "Norman," like the character from Alfred Hitchcock's famous Psycho, the psychopath AI went on a diet of gruesome and violent content from a Reddit page known for its dark posts.

As a result, Norman got a whole different view of everything compared to a regular AI that learned from other sources. The researchers note that Norman is a case study aiming to see how AI could turn bad if its machine learning algorithms feed on this kind of data.

The researchers explain that Norman illustrates how the data used for the machine learning algorithm can have a huge impact on how it behaves and perceives the world. An algorithm itself is not unfair, biased, or negative, it's all about the information it absorbs.

In normal humans intellect is (sometimes) balanced by the emotions. Sometimes, the intellect needs to gain control when the emotions are out of control. There is a constant interaction, even a struggle, between the two. One prevents the other (most of the time) from spinning out of control. The end result is sanity, or as close as we can come to it.

If you think you can program a computer in such a way as to create (not simulate) emotions, and that you can write a program that will use the emotions as a balance to the intellect, and vice-versa, you have my blessings. Are you that talented a programmer that you will be able to do that?

Unserious answer: JOURNALISM!
Imagine all the data in the world.

Now filter out everything which is not recent.

Now filter out what does not satisfy “If it bleeds, it leads."

Now filter out what does not satisfy “'Man Bites Dog,’ not ‘Dog Bites Man’."

What you have left is journalism. The bias you inserted with your filters is negativity, and any claim that "journalism is objective” is actually a claim that “negativity is objectivity.” But “the claim that “negativity is objectivity” is an excellent definition of cynicism.
Journalism is cynical about society and - concomitantly, in that society’s shortcomings constitute government’s reason for existence - naive about government.
IMHO that combination of cynicism and naiveté explains socialism entirely. And, obviously, explains why journalism functions as socialist propaganda.
