U.S. officials have ordered a San Francisco brewery to stop producing beer containing cannabidiol, the hemp-derived extract known as CBD. The U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau is allowing Black Hammer Brewing to sell the rest of the CBD beer it already brewed, including one called Toke Back Mountain... The San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday that the order to stop brewing cannabis beer was not issued because the federal government says marijuana is illegal, but because the trade bureau requires special approval for non-standard beer ingredients. The brewery plans to apply for the approval.

If CBD isn't supposed to have the full punch, what's the purpose of adding it to beer. Huh?
So, THE GOVERNMENT decides what is 'beer' and what is NOT BEER?....................
Nonsense. It has more than its full punch. When dealing with animals who have consumed marijuana, the effects last for days. I suspect the same is true of humans ingesting it.
CBD has no punch. It's not psychoactive.
I use CBD oil to treat my chronic depression. It works. It doesn’t make me high, it just relaxes me. Not to the point of being zonked or even tired, but just a feeling of well being. Much better than the chemical cocktail the “doctors” were giving me.
Perhaps you might want to do a little research for yourself or someone you know.
I have seen it touted as some sort of wonder supplement that is "good for what ails you", without the effects of marijuana. The brewery was being deceptive in calling the beer "Toke Back Mountain".
You could brew crap beer and charge high prices if you add a few drops CBD in it. People will go for this shyte. Looks like a great money maker. (I am anti-marijuana)
There’s a brewing company here in the SF Bay Area that has a beer called “Wilco Tango Foxtrot” [WTF].
They got the “Tango” right, and the “Foxtrot” right, but the NATO word for “W” is “Whiskey”, not “Wilco”.
Then I realized they probably could not use “Whiskey” as part of the beer’s name for truth in labeling reasons.
Yes. but US laws are no where near as restrictive as the German Beer Purity Laws.
OTOH we didn’t have people drop dead because beer additives ate holes in their hearts...
Idiocracy. The Millennial Age. Dope and stupid prevails.
No, CBD (cannabidiol) comes from the hemp plant, and is not psychoactive.
THC (tetra hydra cannibanol), which is psychoactive, comes from the marijuana plant.
The two plants are in the cannabis family, but they're quite different:
If I was related to Nancy, I’d need antidepressants too!
DUDE, what wrong with them, man.
It's true. Search on 'CBD', and you'll be amazed at all the clinical research that has been done on it - some going back to the 1930s.
I know the cocktails by quacks well.
Never helped much.

I use CBD oil for my inflammatory condition (Ankylosing Spondylitis) and I can assure you I don't get any sort of "high" or "buzz" from it. I don't take narcotics of any sort, period.
CBD Oil is also perfectly legal and available in many local drug stores, some drug chains and on Amazon.Com.
Surely if it wasn't legal it wouldn't be on Amazon.
Leftist lunatics ruining the craft beer industry (recent iteration of capitalism)
CBD is not psychoactive, and comes from the hemp plant - a cousin to the marijuana plant.
