A New Jersey high school is facing heat from students and parents over a new policy that either everyone makes the cheerleading squad or no one does.
Hanover Park High School in East Hanover enacted the change after a parent complained his or her child didnt make the team after tryouts last month. [ ]
Some parents say when they complained about the new policy, the principal threatened to disband the 10-member squad.

And I thought the East German swim team from Top Secret was bad...
The same kind of stupidity leads to dropping exams and marks. The insane belief that everyone has the same abilities, and that differences in outcome are from bias.
Snobs. Shouldnt be letting their daughters be cheerleaders in the first place.
King Midas of old was report3d to turn everything he touched to gold. That magical ability has come to be known as “the Midas touch.”
Liberals possess a similar but opposite talent. Everything they touch turns to feces. I call it the Inverse Midas touch.
They’re renaming the school Harrison Bergeron High School.
You said you wanted all things PC and Equal.
Here you go.
When everyone is special, no one is special.
In my high school the cheerleaders tried out.
A panel of teachers selected them and did a really good job. Every one was a beauty and capable. I remember one girl who came from the wrong side of the tracks but was both pretty and good. She got selected.
Mygosh. Whatever happened to pep squads? Call them cheerleaders and give them some routines of their own.
Either EVERYONE makes the football team AND the basketball team AND gets to play or no one does.
Try applying THAT policy.
Our high school let everyone on the all teams but that didn’t mean they got to play except maybe in garbage time.
Actually Troy had the same policy back then. I knew a guy who played at Troy for all 4 years. He was simply a blocking dummy but he did get to honestly say he played college football.
Yes!! That is terrif...**BZZZZT***
Wait, what?
I read about this a few days ago. It seems that the complaint is that the selection system is bad. I don’t know what their system is but if cheerleaders are involved it’s probably pretty catty.

I’d also settle for Thomas Tramaglini High School.
(The publicly pooping school superintendent in the same state)
Sometime during those years the size of the cheerleading squad tripled, plus they added a dance squad and a bunch of flag wavers to the band. (Halftimes take forever!)
ML/NJ
Yep.
Public school bureaucrats are the most craven creatures there are. I am quite certain its a spineless, political bureaucrat who didn’t want to have to deal with one particularly annoying real housewife of NJ.
These bureaucrats don’t, and can’t, represent parents - they represent the more powerful interests of the Dept. of Education, politicians, the State and its mandates, the teachers unions and all the political ideology and baggage they bring.
We are all borg.
It is a sport, put the other kids in a pom-pom pep squad.
