Scientists have discovered a surprising fact about our universe in the past 40 years: against incredible odds, the numbers in basic physics are exactly as they need to be to accommodate the possibility of life. If gravity had been slightly weaker, stars would not have exploded into supernovae, a crucial source of many of the heavier elements involved in life. Conversely, if gravity had been slightly stronger, stars would have lived for thousands rather than billions of years, not leaving enough time for biological evolution to take place.

When I discuss God with atheists I always say fortunately God does not require your belief in Him to exist. It always infuriates them and makes me smile.
I believe in God, but I’m not so presumptuous to say I know what God is.
Interesting
...unless they tell you.
At that point, it would be presumptuous to say you still don't know.
I believe in God, but Im not so presumptuous to say I know what God is.
I believe that I read in one of Hawkings books, think it may have been A Brief History of Time, that he tended to believe in a supernatural creator because science could not explain the other side of the Big Bang.

I dont think anyone can grasp the enormity of who and what God is. This will probably sound inaine to you but I am content with the portions He has chosen to show me throughout my life. Its enough for me.
The basics are the key to understanding. Why life? Why do molecules care? Flora and fauna DO improve, but for what purpose? The thing that directs EVERYTHING is an unseen hand. That is the most logical explanation for what we SEE.
Those like myself do not presume to do so either; we are convinced that He declared Himself.
The thing I find most absurd about supposedly rational atheists is their specious defense of morality in an amoral universe.
They cannot legitimately argue that morals are somehow better for survival and reproduction.
Genghis Khan was a murderous tyrant who functionally raped a good portion of the world. His evil was rewarded with temporal power, and with spreading his genes throughout the pool.
***I dont think anyone can grasp the enormity of who and what God is. ***
That’s exactly right. If any of us could grasp God completely, then.....He wouldn’t be as great as He says.
The universe .... Intelligent design by Superior Being of intelligence
I think this is the most logical explanation.
From Wiki:
John Wheeler speculated that reality is created by observers in the universe. “How does something arise from nothing?”, he asked about the existence of space and time. He also coined the term “Participatory Anthropic Principle” (PAP), a version of a Strong Anthropic Principle.
When you heathens crack the irreducibly complex DNA code give me a call
Heathens created a Stephen Hawking LEGO set, not official. I laughed out loud when I saw how they made his legs all lopsidey like they were in real life:

I’m sure my husband, who is also a member of FR and has Muscular Dystrophy that makes his legs all “lopsidey” as you call it, will be tickled pink to know you were so amused, if he ever comes across your post.
