FULL TITLE: NHS Doctor: Starving Alfie Evans to Death Is Not the Killing of A Child, Its Just Redirecting Care
Forcing 23 month-old Alfie Evans to die by starvation is not killing, Dr. Ranj Singh argued on U.K.s This Morning ITV program Friday, Express reports.
Withdrawing life-support and refusing to allow Alfies parents to take him home, feed and care for him, is, instead merely redirecting care, Dr. Singh said:
This is not the killing of a child - this is redirecting care to make them more comfortable.
In Alfies case, redirecting care to make him more comfortable means denying him food, water and life support. Dr. Singh doubled down on his claim, framing the withdrawal of life support as a way to make patients more comfortable and give them "the most dignifying life:
Withdrawing life support is not killing someone. It is redirecting care to make them more comfortable and give them the most dignifying life that you can.
Dr. Singh also said pro-life Alfie supporters outside the Alder Hey Hospital protesting to save Alfies life are behaving disgustingly:
Theres a small proportion who have - I will say it - behaved disgustingly.
Dr. Singh is a clinical technician who works for the U.K.s government-run health care system, National Health Service (NHS), which fought, and won, in court to end Alfies life.

I have not forgotten what you did
Also, think of the way television changed the dynamics of family life and social life, in the way we disengaged from each other to concentrate on the programming. Before t.v., there was radio, but it’s possible to interact with others while listening to the radio, but it is NOT possible to engage with others, while your eyes AND ears AND attention are glued to the t.v..
Redirecting care to abortion and aids treatments.
Can we withdraw all good and water from this yob?
The Hindus I have known have a profound respect for fate. Fate requires one not to intervene.
This guy is most likely from India. Life doesnt mean much there
This is so very wrong and sad.
Margaret Sanger would be proud of this weeding of the population. He could easily run in the DNC.
Husband and I said just that this morning.....
Dear Lord, welcome Alfie into Your realm, and hold his parents close, in Your loving embrace.
Tatt
But somebody posted about this about conservative hypocrisy (???) saying it's Cruz's state and Bush signed the law (it is the law but don't know if that is true), and I remember when it happened, felt bad for the baby and mother.
Partial transcript. The condition of the child was different.
Denial of hydration, in addition to denial of nutrition, causes a particularly agonizing death.
Or you could call it a “death panel”.
He is Sikh
What a horrible murder this was. How do these wretched people sleep at night?
They make me sick.
“He is Sikh.”
No he is not, he is a monster!! May the day come when he is starved to death.
Someone needs to give Dr Singh “the most dignifying life”.
Alfie had a chance with actual medical care but you, Dr Singh, decided to murder the child instead.
I thought Sikh people were better than that.
People are people regardless of race, creed or religion. They are individuals responsible for their individual actions.
