That was the first movie we rented when we got our very first VCR in the early 80s.
I tried to find the movie recently to share with my teens. I couldn’t find it on Netflix, Amazon Prime, regular Amazon streaming, or ondemand. I couldn’t figure out why but now wonder if the PC police are out.
These shows are such garbage. Such predictable PC drivel. Every woman is a ninja and the male rear ends preening around for the gays...They have made women into dismal, unattractive freaks, and men into incompetent, putrid fools and idiots.

My teenagers know it, feel it, and talk about it nearly every day too. I feel terribly sorry for my kids in this aspect.
Why mess with the original? Look at how Matthew Broderick mucked up the Gene Wilder part in The Producers "remix", among others. I shudder to think what one of today's directors would do to the Gene Wilder or Cleavon Little roles. Worse yet, what about Marty Feldman and Gene Wilder from another Brooks classic, "Young Frankenstein"?
No thanks. If I want to see good un-PC comedy like these, I'll pull the DVDs of the originals.

Just this morning, a friend asked if I wanted to attend a Wagner Symphony concert. I said I don’t do Wagner. Every time I hear it, I get the urge to invade Poland.
It’s true; leftism is humorless and they’ve made everything people used to joke about into some form of crime, either “hate speech” or “microaggression” or some other invented nonsense term.
And not only are they humorless, they demand everyone else be so also. Remember the grilling these people gave a rodeo clown who had the temerity to dress up as Obama?
All that remains, humor-wise, once the Left has done its thing, are poop jokes. And every last poop joke that could possibly ever be made, was made by the end of the first year of Obama’s first term.
Now Trump, he’s a great subject for humor. Very naturally lends himself to it. But the Left has no sense of humor so all they can do is make taunts and threats while smiling, that’s their best approximation of what is to them a completely alien phenomenon.
We should always be kind to Poles.
All over the world, they’re holding up power lines.

They are NOT humorless, they make derogatory jokes about conservatives and Christians all the time...a few of them even witty.
The demand part is where they show their true colors. They will also never own up to their hypocrisy. They shout, scream and yell that everyone must obey their grandstanding edicts, while violating them in the same breath.

There always has to be a small bit of truth in a joke.

And this is while science fiction giant Tor is arguing that we shouldn’t write female villains unless they’re not stereo-typically female in any way.
I call bull crap. GAME NIGHT is the #8 movie of 2018 so far ($68 mil). BLOCKERS has already cracked the top 20 after just 2 weeks in release. Amy Schumer’s expected results do not equate with a general downturn in comedy. (This article is nothing more than an attempt to soft-pedal her film’s approaching crash and burn. It’s not Amy, it’s comedy, don’t you see?)
There are more animated features than there were in years past. Blumhouse is cranking out a lot of successful horror flicks. The market is different, but GAME NIGHT & BLOCKERS are proving there is still a market for R-rated comedy.
A Mel Brooks type movie satirizing the millennial culture would be yuge. Brooks is too old for it. Don’t know enough about younger directors as to who could pull it off.

I think our culture is DYING for someone to say F### Political Correctness and lead the charge to spit in the face of what is currently “acceptable”.
The person brave enough to do this will have to be smart and tough enough to withstand the initial barrage of Social Media backlash, but the rewards will be great.
He is interesting isn’t he.
In a way though, I think they betray the memory of him by corrupting his character in the series. He was a dead on loyal entity in the original.
Other than the Robinsons, and Penny is very iffy at times, there’s nobody to be trusted.
