Lisa Powell-Dejong laughed when she looked at the list of hospital charges from giving birth to her daughter, Liberty Mae. That's because among the charges for more expected things like the NICU stay and blood tests, was $1,216.50 for a circumcision. Yeah, a circumcision ... for her newborn daughter.
Liberty Mae is the most recent addition to the blended family of seven children. Colorado mom Powell-Dejong had a hospital birth once before but didn't check the medical bill with her first biological daughter, who was in the NICU for nine days.
"But I sure wish I had," the mom told Mom.me "She is almost 3 and I JUST paid her hospital bill off! Makes me wonder what was on there."

How does one just blindly pay off a hospital bill?
I trust the medical community as far as I can throw them. I double check EVERYTHING I get from them and question anything that doesn’t look right.
I wish they’d work so hard on other, more practical and needed medical advances.
Seems like anything to do with sex gets top priority.
“I JUST paid her hospital bill off! Makes me wonder what was on there.”........
OK, get your attorney to summon the hospital to provide the records for the original bill. They should have it in their records.
My first thought was it was a Mooelimb mother upset because back in Shiitehole Africa they only have to give a week’s worth of goat’s milk to get a circumcision
Female “circumcision” involves far more than removing a Hoodia. It entails chopping out the clitoris and sewing the vaginal opening closed except for a small hole for urine to flow. It truly is a barbaric genital mutilation that kills many girls.
I know someone who was born in the UK, while his father was in the USAF. He was born in a hospital off base. First, he has a British birth certificate(He would have had British citizenship as well, if he didn’t renounce it). Second, his parents had to get a birth certificate from the air base his father was stationed at. Third, his fathers state of residence also issued a birth certificate.
Poor guy has to submit all that paper work whenever anyone asks for a birth certificate. He usually has to explain himself at length, as well.
I'm with you. I had to go to the local hospital emergency room in November. They transferred me to another hospital for a procedure that the local could not do.
The local sent me a letter 10 days later demanding a co-pay before they could bill my insurance. I called my insurance company, and they verified that my plan does not require a co-pay. I called the hospital and told them to pound sand.
When they finally got around to billing my insurance, the ER doctor tried to bill for the entire 2.5 hour visit, in which they seemed to run every test known to science. Insurance Co rejected that bill.
Next, the hospital and the ER doc both filed the same claim, which double-billed everything. Rejected! Finally, the hospital and ER doc came up with a way to split the billing for my 2.5 hour visit, which my insurance co promptly paid.
What a racket......
Cool.

As long as codes have to be used typographical errors will happen
When she already has five others? Yes
Which means she had five children to take care of already....whether hers by birth or not
This woman is no better than Octomom
Precisely...and you dont even need an attorney. All you have to do is request
Well, that was TMI.
It’s good to have opinions, even better to realize when they are bitter, not fact based and biased.
The woman is not on public assistance; she is gainfully employed. What business of yours is it how many children she has? You like the Chinese system of single children & forced abortions? How has that worked out - a lost generation of men who can’t find women to marry so they kidnap them. Not enough people to support the elderly.
The US birthrate is plummeting well below replacement and you think shaming people for how many children they have is appropriate.

The only people who are stupid enough to not get an itemized bill, particularly when they did audit work for an insurance company, are stupid attorneys
Glad you are having fun.
