Thanks for the memories, Mr. Bocho. Prime Time in the 80’s and early 90’s belonged to his law and order type shows.

Hill street blues was the best of the bunch. I will never forget the first episode and some of the characters. Lets be careful out there!

He certainly pushed the envelope with his shows, including nudity and foul language. Certainly, his shows were well-received and well written. I did enjoy L.A. Law for their legal dramas and for introducing the tv world to Courtney Thorne-Smith as a Lakers cheerleader. 0_0

Cant wach them now, they’re too unreal and timid to me. At the time they were the most realistic on tv.

Those were a handful of great shows back in the day. NYPD Blue was a favorite for years.

I confess I probably haven’t watched any of Boscho’s shows (L.A. Law, Hill Street Blues or NYPD Blue), though I do remember how big NYPD Blue was in its day.

The freaky part is that tonight I was watching videos of Boscho talking about his shows on Youtube, and then I switch to his wikipedia entry...to find he died today.

I loved most of his TV shows, but something I really liked was his participation in the poker games during season 1 of the TV show Castle, where he, and other famous authors, played themselves, playing poker with the fictional writer, Richard Castle (played by Firefly's Nathan Fillion.)

Never enjoyed his stuff but it appears that I am in the minority.

He obce offered my former college roomate a job as a writer on the development of HSB. The offer was declined. 18 months later the show was a smash hit and I visited him in NYC. First thing he said was: “ don’t even f’n mention Hill Streer Blues to me.”

I watched L.A. Law. I liked the actors in it. Didn’t think about the producer. I’d heard of Bochco. Knew some of his shows. Knew he was good at what he did. Thank you Steven.
