A few weeks ago we asked our readers to vote for their least favorite songs from the 1990s, so it was the obvious next move to dial it back 10 years and see what you guys hated in the 1980s. The results are sure to infuriate a lot of people. For the record, I personally disagree with most of these selections. In fact, I love a lot of these songs...
10. Rick Astley - 'Never Gonna Give You Up'...
9. Taco - 'Puttin' On The Ritz'...
8. Toni Basil - 'Mickey'...
7. Bobby McFerrin - 'Don't Worry Be Happy'...
6. Falco - 'Rock Me Amadeus'...
5. Men Without Hats - 'The Safety Dance'...
4. Wham! - 'Wake Me Up (Before You Go Go)'....
3. Chris de Burgh - 'Lady In Red'....
2. Europe - 'The Final Countdown'...
1. Starship - 'We Built This City'...

A couple more losers...
The final countdown - Asia
Eye of the Tiger - Suvivor
Su Su Sudio - Phil Collins
Kiss me deadly - Lita Ford
Loved that song. Tried singing it at Karaoke once. Much harder than it sounds.
*SIGH*
Yep. We were all young and beautiful Once Upon a Time! :)
I would like to nominate “Walk This Way” by Run DMC and that big mouth guy that dresses like a loose woman.
Truly awful, and signaled the beginning of the end of everything good.
Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes. The worst song ever made.
Copy that!
Judging 80s pop songs by 'multi-cultural' content is a slippery slope.
Do you really want to hurt me... Culture Club
Yes we do!
I LOVE these songs! Well, at least most of them, and the others I like pretty well. Dont hate any of them.
What a bunch of baloney. Undoubtedly a poll of the fringe element who think they are so prominent thanks to the internet connections they make. The kind who like album-oriented rock; I.e., the music no one listens to.
When you’re someone people can’t help but want to hurt (preferably without touching), you shouldn’t call your song “Do you really want to hurt me?”
Susudio! Forgot about that one!
Turned Brit Christian Bale into an American Psycho.
Tears For Fears - “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”
I’ll totally ‘date’ myself but we did an AWESOME Jazzercise routine to that song!
I like TFT’s ‘Sewing the Seeds of Love’ I like the orchestration.
(Jazz·er·cise: a type of fitness training combining aerobic exercise and dancing to jazz music.)
GREAT song, weird video.
Which is why I was glad we didnt have cable then so I couldnt have MTV ruin my view of songs. My husband showed me that the first time in 2005 or so.
Oh, you’re listening with your eyes!
Sorry, that song was released in Sept 1979.
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Oh BTW, I read Boy George is actually working on the back of a trash truck now. It’s on the internet, so it must be true!
>>More like the 10 BEST Songs of the ‘80’s!<<
The 80s had Boston, Dire Straights, Stray Cats, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Styx, the B-52s and so many more and you think that list of drek was the best?
Or was that sarcasm and I missed it?
I nominate that for gayest song and video of all time. That abomination made Liberace look like Chuck Norris by comparison.
