Brownsville, Tennessee is not far from Fedex Headquarters in Memphis. And it is close but much farther from Bentonville, Arkansas (WalMart Headquarters).
I was suprised to see a package I ordered delivered, and when I checked I could not find it. On checking the tracking information, it went (via Fedex) to Brownsville, Tennessee (in Western Tennessee off I-40 close to Memphis).
In this day and age, I believe it is more likely that one Obama's children, or Al Gore's Dixie Mafia was involved.
It also means that when someone STEALS something like this in this day and age, it can be tracked.
I am posting this article just as an alert for others out there.
Just posting in case other folks see "Brownsville, Tennessee" in tracking info.
Now that online shopping is replacing brick-and-mortar stores, one can expect porch pirates to become a huge problem.
It’s already a huge problem in my intown Atlanta neighborhood. Sad stories almost everyday on our neighborhood website about packages being stolen.
More likely just an error. Thank goodness for tracking capabilities.
I’ve had a UPS Store mailbox for years and for the peace of mind and convenience, it’s worth every dime. Just about everything goes there.
My wife finally got one because of porch pirates. Nothing nicked yet but she finally saw the value.
I sell many things on EBay an have learned from my main shipper that people follow the delivery trucks in the morning and report pkg drop off adressses to a follow up car. You need to ship items to a secure adress or require signature.
Anything from kali gets checked out by employees
And they steal it
Pot
Put another package out on the porch filled with dog poo or a note saying they’ve been caught on video and will be reported to the cops.
People are turning more and more to online shopping and home delivery in order to avoid all the troubles in the public spaces.
But it’s like leaving food out on the porch. It attracts vermin.
more then likely, the label fell off, it does happen and FedEx is the best company to locate lost packages.
Contact FedEx, and tell them what is in the box, they have a database of lost packages and can locate and ship it to you.
The post office doesn’t give a f____
I ordered something from Amazon a few weeks before last Christmas and it disappeared in a Burbank, CA Fedex warehouse. I am about 25 miles from there. I looked at the tracking figuring any day now it will be delivered. Amazon notified me that it was lost and asked if I wanted to re-order. I did at no additional charge and the package arrived soon after.
I wonder who got it? I have ordered multiple items and on 2 occasions a low cost item was not included yet said delivered at Amazon. I think Amazon/Fedex/UPS and USPS have a shrinkage problem.
At least I do not have any package thieves in my apartment building..... yet.
Is Brownsville on the bad side of the state tracks?
One thing the muz gets right is chopping off the hand of a thief.
I’m for that being applied to thieves here. That’s about it for any contribution from that crowd.
I had the same problem with USPS.
Package sent west. Tracking puts it at non-existent zip code in NYC, which is apparently what they assign it to when it’s lost or stolen.
My opinion: Theft by USPS personnel.
I’ve found that WalMart ships goods free, like an iron for clothing, as opposed to Amazon that charges $25.
WalMart is confronting Amazon and beating them. Jeff Bozos the Commie sucks sewer water.
Crime can pay when one works for the USPS.
Recently purchased a pair of Brooks walking shoes.
They never arrived, despite the tracking info which said that they did. Clearly it was the Driver, as I was home at the delivery time and waiting for the package to arrive. The tracking said it was delivered when I know for certain that it absolutely was not.
Brooks did well and resent the order, which showed up just a few days following, but now I am reluctant to reorder.
This Internet convenience ain’t all that wonderful, but at least that company took care of me personally.
Yes. Think Nutbush, the Tina Turner song
Walmart will also ship for delivery to a nearby store if you don’t want to risk the porch pirates. For folks that don’t want to shop in Walmart (for the obvious reasons) it can be ordered online and sent to a neighborhood Walmart grocery.
