I have visited Miami-Dade and the Hillsborough area. Florida Freepers, what's the matter with Broward County?

I lived in Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) for over 50 years. It used to be a great place. Now overwhelmed by blue state refugees, Caribbean immigrants and infested with left wing politicians. I escaped from the cultural rubble four years ago and never looked back.

I am well acquainted with Broward County. It has a strong blue collar base, with a considerable labor union element and a chunk of liberal Jewish retirees from the North. Add in the Black and Hispanic vote and the result is a solidly Democratic county with a few beleaguered Republican enclaves.

It’s population has tripled since then and it hasn’t gone Republican since 88’

It’s typically 2-1 Democrat in every election since 2000.

I'll second that and have seen too much of it in parts of the West, too. The mix of European culture is foreign. They haven't assimilated much. Living close to many of them tends to bring the realization that they want to regulate against Americans of more traditional persuasion to rob us and push us out.

They do have a sense of community, though. It resides solely in vices, drunken parties and other corruption. Atrocious crimes also rise from such an alien brew.
